It was so quiet here over the weekend, then I go back to work on Monday morning (when it seems to be Sunday night everywhere else on the world) and everyone's here - I'm going to develop a complex! I might have to start taking Monday's off just to keep up!

Who was looking for non-pregnancy HS fics?  This is a good one  ;D

Thanks for reccing this - I have it in my collection of downloaded fics but only had 9 chapters - I must have saved it before the epi posted.

I am currently following a story called Barefoot In Texas. I'm very nervous because from what I can see the author is new, this is her first story and the couple of chapters I've read seem really good. I have the jitters; she has no track record to speak of so she may stop updating...How did I get this on my alerts?! Did on of you ladies rec it?

I'm following this too (following sounds so much better than stalking!) and have no idea how I stumbled upon it. For now, I'll blame you if it doesn't complete.  ;)

However, this is from the author's profile You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
It's called "Barefoot in Texas" and it's completely written and edited, so there is no chance of it disappearing from your alerts!

So here's hoping!

I've got about 5 WIPs that I read

5 WIPS! Mate!!! You are a glutton for punishment!

But don't lose faith. After being burnt too many times, I had only 2 WIPS that I was reading. I started reading Anything But Conventional in early 2009 as a WIP, and then it's sequel Don't Ever Forget which started posting in October 2009.

Anything But Conventional You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Edward Cullen is an Army brat, who has his entire life planned out perfectly, and can't wait to get out of this utterly dull town of Forks, WA. But then a whirlwind in the form of Bella Swan enters his life..AU/AH,some OOC

Sequel to Anything but Conventional. With an everlasting love, they say good bye. Will their love be enough to endure the distance and all the hardships along the way? AH/OOC

After nearly 4 years, DEF finished posting yesterday! I'm glad I stuck with this one - it starts as a HS fic (but there are no accidental pregnancies (
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
) and is actually quiet realistic - I think, not having any experience with the US education system.

The other WIP I'm reading is Master Of My Heart You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
After joining a prestigious and illustrious private club built around sexual dominance and role play; Bella enters into a submissive relationship with wealthy and predominant businessman Edward Cullen.

The author was very regular - blog and all, then slowed up, then responded to some very nasty flames about her updating schedule and then slowed even more. I think she may have moved house somewhere in there too. It started in June 2009, but hasn't been touched since June 2012!  :banghead: This is an interesting fic - some parts are exceptionally well written, and in other parts there are issues with past/present tense, grammar, etc. The plot is great though - this is one where I have contemplated offering to pre-read, but worried that I might offend, especially after the issue with flamers.

OK, so i decided to take the plunge and read EP even though I have read the published version. So far the story is pretty similar but, and its a big BUT, I'm on page 406 and I'm just about a third of the way through! How long is this story and does EP take us further into it than Sempre? Is EP Sempre + the sequel due out at some point, or.....?

I read EP as a WIP (back in the day when I still read WIPs - ahhh, to be young and naive again!) and loved it. I haven't yet read Sempre, but have read a lot of comparisons/reviews. In EP, the POV alternated between E & B and there was a fair bit of repetition. This didn't bother me, because one would describe it in more depth, then the other would sort of skim over the same part then build on the next bit. From what I've read, there isn't anywhere near the repetition in Sempre.

Now for some EP gossip...I apologise in advance - I'm not very good at gossip so this might be old news!
* I read somewhere that Sempre will be made into a movie.
* On Goodreads, the author mentions "the unnamed sequel". You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

You must read the EP Outtake Principessa (I think it was written for a charity fundraiser thingy) which was more an epilogue, and the Alec novella  Public Enemy Number One. f you can't find these, let me know and I'll upload them.

ETD: Sorry - being lazy before. They're here, as well as a few other o/t.

True Love Way
Moving Trucks and Sunglasses. Rollerblades and Heart Shaped Potatoes. M&M's for Smiles and Notes Across Lawns. "Sometimes I'm just sad," and "I NOT ALLOWED love you hard." A story about first loves and the struggle to keep it.
As far from the norm as you can get, in my opinion. It is the sweetest, sweetest story and one of the first fic I read and it has stuck with me across all the hundreds of fics I've read since. It is my very favourite Twific, with my favourite chapter (38, I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it) in a Twific. I hardly ever recommend it because I'm an only child and I hate sharing  :D :D :D No, but seriously this story turned me into a TeamBella23 disciple, though I will admit to having a crisis of faith at the moment, what with the Dusty situation  >:D

Can u write little review of this story for me? like about  plot & chracters of story.I dont mind spoiler.Normally when i start reading new fic, i read review section to get basic idea  but this fic is not on ff.net so i have to read from pdf.
Thanks  :-*

To be fair, most of them update fairly regularly - Caged, Wisp, Torn and The American President. The only one that seems MIA at the moment is Frontline - the really suspenseful, cliffie one  :(

I read Better than Pie and No Ordinary Proposal as WIP's and they both updated fairly regularly, too. I guess it's just luck more than anything, plus I usually check the time between date created and date published last - if it's been 6 months between and there's 3 chapters, I won't bother following. If it's more reasonable, they enter my follow list  >:D

Don't fret about Frontline - this is from the author's profile from just last week:

Frontline Update (November 19, 2012): I am just finishing up the final chapters of the story, working hard to bring you the best conclusion possible. When I have finished the epilogue, I will post everything all at once. Thanks for your patience and continued support!

I have a horrible feeling that all my Follow-Until-Finished fics will finish around the same time and I'll have loads more on my tbr list  :(
Ooh thanks for that, I really hope it's soon as I think she only had 5 or 6 chapters.

I got the giggles reading a one-shot earlier, it was speaking of Bella with no make-up and Edward described her as having pale, creamy, flawless skin. I was just imagining mine: 'Oh Lauren, your skin is so blotchy and has these dark circles. I think your uneven skintone is what first drew me to you'  :D Now that I would like to see in a fic sometime soon.

Hi
So True Love Way:
This isn't a overly long story, 49 chapters but each fairly short, amuse bouches of heartache and angst. It starts when the characters are 10 years old and ends in their 30s. This poor Bella is riddled with troubles and swimming (actually, mainly drowning) against the tide in a rip-stream not of her making
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
and of which she can never be free of; Emmett admits to crying and you know you're in trouble when Charlie is the comic relief, so be warned and have a hanky at the ready. Edward, is a sweetheart! He is very young girl's ultimate fantasy; the boy who starts off as your best friend and then turns into everything. If you like Jerkward (apart from a tinny tiny slip which ultimately is not his fault) or Man-Whoreward (which I must admit I sometimes do) he is no where to be found in this story, and the lemons are more"lemonade". True Love Way is also the first Fan Fiction I read which didn't have a "happy ending", well, not in the traditional sense of all the dragons are slain and the damsel rescued. The story "comes to terms" with Bella and Edwards situation, they are happy but their "problem" is never solved....There are 5 epilogues on top of the 49 chapters and I imagine that when this story was developing as a WIP, for a reader, at the end of the last chapter, you would have been desperate for an epilogue to tie it all up and bring closure.

1. Sideline Collision » reviews
A cocky QB runs into a snarky band geek. What happens when they collide on and off the field? Rated M.
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Romance/Humor - Chapters: 29 - Words: 182,402 - Reviews: 10016 - Updated: 11-22-12 - Published: 2-15-11 - Edward & Bella - Complete

Totally loving Sideline Collision. Am almost done. Its written in EPOV. I love the Edward here, so cocky and yet clueless when it comes to love. Oh, i was laughing so hard with Chapter 15, the conversation between Edward  and Carlisle is classic! Bella is not a meek girl here and the stoned Jasper is cute. Nolebucgirl is really one of my favorite authors.

I really loved sideline collision too. That scene in chapter 15 was the funniest. " Poor" Edward ,he went through some heavy emotions until he realised what was happening with him . :)

Why is it that virtually NO one who writes fanfic understands possessive tense? In just about EVERY fic I read it's always "The Cullen's". As in "the Cullen's were the nicest family. I couldn't wait until the Cullen's got back from hunting." It gets so old.

And this morning I read something where it talked about how much  "wait" the guy could carry!

The part that really frightens me is when you read in their profile that in RL they are English Teachers - there is one writer that is so guilty it is scary.

Summary: Bella, 23, and Edward, 25, meet at a social event. As far as appearances go, they couldn't be more different, but they are instantly drawn to each other. Could they really be soul mates? And will the people around them accept their relationship?

I think this is maybe the second/third overweight Edward I've seen in a fic. Sweet story, a fair bit of angst but Edward is so cute he makes up for it! The only downside is the lack of a '10 years later' style epilogue, but that's just me being a HEA fanatic.

Which one are you reading?

The whole Cullen's vs Cullens issue has been driving me CRAZY. I don't understand why so many authors seem to be unable to know when to use possessive or not.

ETA: jesus, I complain about it and then I make the same mistake. My kids were talking at the same time, that's my defense lol

This one. I read the whole thing (it's incomplete, last updated in August) and it was just painful. Good story buried in there, but SO many errors that my brain hurts now. The plot moves at warp speed.(minor spoilers)
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
The author does the POV switching like in EP, but in such a way that she's constantly re-writing the same exact conversations, word for word, with a tiny bit of thought from each character. So it what's there could have been told in half the amount of words/chapters.
