I don't know...I definitely think that's true for some men (like my husband). But I started noticing at my college reunions (starting with the 20th) that it seemed like the women were holding up better than most of the men. At least I could still recognize them. Maybe it's just the graying hair (and a few bellies), that throw me. Course men's thicker skin helps them fight the ravages of time for a little longer.

How did you come come up with your profile name?
Astro was my sister's dog (who I adopted when she moved to London) and he died (old age) in 2009.

my name is a play on words. i love to read books and i'm married/busy etc.

We call them underwear or panties and bras here.

I have worn pedal pushers when it was the rage in the '80s, they made a comeback in 2009 and were called capris.

haven't had the guts to start WISP but its in my WIP list. The only WIP i'm following is Catastrophia's Me and Mr. cullen. am not too anxious about the late updating of Love and Eternal Lullabies bec. its already a sequel, i already got the HEA in Virgins and Villains

Does ANYONE here have a decently formatted copy of But a Whisper on His Lips they would mind sending me?

I've used both FLAGG and the FF downloader plug in for Calibre, and every time, it ends up with weird jerky formatting, broken sentences, etc. It's all there, but choppy!

I think the issue is the formatting in fanfic itself. If you look at it there, it looks as though the author put in hard returns at the end of each line.

Yes, damn those authors for not marking complete!

An author on ADF campfired a few weeks ago about how to increase review/reader count (or something like that - it was a while ago. Can’t remember author or fic now). Her fic was not marked as complete and it was only her CF that made me look at the chapters and discover that it was actually finished. I replied, stating that I had been watching her fic but wouldn’t read until it was finished, and if she remedied this, she might get more readers.

I went back a week later – no response and the fic status still wasn’t changed!

I first saw him in Harry Potter and thought he was super cute/hot as Cedric but alas I was really too young then to entertain any of the ideas I do now. Then I was forced to sit though Twilight and I didn't get it, he looks so damn constipated as Edward, now I've seen him in more films I can once again appreciate him as one fine specimen.

Completely random and off topic...(That's not like you, I hear you all shout!)

It's 6:10pm on 1 December - the first day of summer and its currently 36 C (97F).

5 days till my birthday (40!!!), 13 days until Summer holidays and 25 days until Christmas .

I just saw this ad on TV - and thought I'd share it with you all so you can see how we do things here in Australia.

The bloke at the beginning is tennis legend (and fellow Queenslander) Pat Rafter (twice winner at the US Open, twice runner-up at Wimbledon, and all round hottie!). I don't dance around in my undies (well - not looking like this!) but we do wear the dorky paper hats from the Christmas crackers, spend as much time in or near water, and have a beautiful back yard of crunchy brown grass - the sprinkler is on as I type and as much as I would love to be dancing around under it in my togs - or undies - I'm not.

The pink birds - they're real. We call them galahs. Pronounced gə (short uh sound) lah (the sound you make when the doctor checks your throat - open your mouth and say ahhhh). The emphasis is on the lah.

In summer the sky is full of them. They sit on the power lines - and shower you when you walk under, if you're not careful!

The term galah is also Aussie slang for idiot.

Remember to put your Christmas tree up today and eat the first chocy from the advent calendar!

but you mentioned Pat Rafter and i had to say something. I was such a fangirl for him.
So nice, so hot! Tennis lost its appeal to me when he retired. No more serve and volley players.
Saw him live couple of times and in one davis cup even got to celebrate the Aussie win with the team. No im not australian.
