Not sure what's worse, the hair on that Jasper doll or the wigs they put him in for the film..

I'm re-reading Loner by Nilla at the moment, but I also have 3 papers (one being on PMS - yes, that PMS) to write in the next week. No time for fanfic  :(

Boooo for school and interupting reading time :(

Loner, one of the most excellent fics I've read

Loner was one of my firsts, read as a WIP - though I think it was about half done when I started it.  It may be time to reread it ;)

It was the first fic I read so it holds a special place in my library, though I must admit I skim over the more offensive scenes now, reading that kind of thing once was more than enough *shutters* (just for you, Miss Ella!)

And Deranged_dreamer, indeed he was. Definitely not for sensitive people.

I read it as a WIP as well, I think she had just started it. She was awesome with updates so it didn't aggravate me like it does now. I learned my lesson... well sorta  ^-^

Poor Jasper.
I'm pretty sure Alice wouldn't let him out in public looking like that!
 :D

WTF??  They should have modeled it on Jasper in Eclipse.  In his Confederate Uniform.  Um hmm.  Nods head.  Drools...
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

Yes, as a child.  I can't read the other one - Loner - The Beginning.  Though it may have started with when he was rescued.  Though I read MoTU at about the same time, so I get them mixed up a bit.

CaraNo - This Life

It's odd, I think I've mentioned before that I'm a new, if hesitant, convert to CaraNo's work. And I've now discovered why. My experience over the quality of her writing just hasn't been consistent. I totally disliked Isla de Cullen, but really loved Close Your Eyes, I'm now reading This Life and honestly I want to punch something, the writing style is so immature I find it hard to believe it's the same author that wrote Grand Tale.  I want to grab hold of Edward's godson/cousin Alec and smack him upside the head and send him to military school (precocious brat!) what 12 year old gets away with calling grown women "luvs and Tush" and putting his mouth into grown-ups business, especially a 12 year old that has been brought up within an Irish Catholic family who are "organised"? In fact the whole Irish element of the story is so fake it's makes me cringe; after all, all you need to be authentically Irish is a pint of Guinness, a claddagh ring and a mention of County Cork and granted I'm only on Chapter 12 but this story is stretching the "fiction" element in fan fiction so thin, it's turning the "fan" in me into a  :sign0099: I'm praying it gets better or this Flounce P.u.s.s.y will have to grow a pair and do exactly that.

I haven't read this one but I really liked What's Up Doc and then the sequel, Oh, I'll show you what's up.  I enjoyed the Bella in these stories and Edward is just so lovable. I personally found them hilarious.  Another fun one was Trash & Darlin's.  Maybe you'll enjoy the humorous ones?  Unless this life is supposed to be funny. Don't give up yet...

I think CaraNo does humor best.  This life was not written in one go like some of her better stuff.  I think she may have had some writers block on it.  I also think Isla de Cullen was a drawn out one as well.  I haven't read either, though I've read a lot of her stuff.  I guess, like all the other writers out there, sometimes it's good, sometimes not.  And everyone likes something different.

You don't have to flounce though...just do what I do - get distracted by another story and forget you were reading it.  :D :D :D :D

???Just read this sentence in Oh Horny Night, a Christmas Tale by ExquisiteEdward and wanted to share:

"I drug my suitcase out to the black Escalade and handed it to Carl to stow in the back. "

I'm wondering what's so bad about Bella's suitcase that she has to drug it.   :D  :D  :D

It's almost as bad as when she dove in the pool!

Speaking about Carano's work, I don't know if anyone has noticed that she uses 'cause' so much! it drives me crazy... seriously while I loved Simply Edward and... well I can't think about another one I've liked so much...  But I'm a glutton for punishment so I keep reading everything she writes in hopes that she writes something I like. Seriously try doing a word search in one of her chapters and you will see how much she uses the word cause. >:(

I love a lot of her work, but I flounced This Life too, I really didn't like it at all. I can't remember if I made it to chapter 12 but to me it got progressively worse/ more annoying. It was so ridiculous and the secondary characters annoyed the bugger out of me, I just couldn't deal with it at all. At least she wasn't getting Irish and Scottish mixed up though like one mob story I read recently. If I were you I would give up and move onto one of her other *cough*better*cough* stories.  One I quite enjoyed if you're looking for something short was 539 Minutes, it's only a two shot, short and sweet.

I agree with u.I have kind of love-hate relationship with cara's story. Some of her stories are best i have ever read & some of are so worst that  i cant belive its written by same writer. I am not sure that problem is genre here because she has done pretty good job in writing diff type of  fics like close your eyes, River, NFW, White picket what?, Simply Edward, I remember december,Grand tale, Grand Vendetta. But yeah  Some time she gets  overboard with plot & characters.Like her story It's Sign is Too much fluffy & sugary sweet  for my liking & Isla da cullen, More are filled with  too much adult stuff , its cringe worthy :P & some of her stories are i dont know basically no plot nothing, just another average twi FF.Its like why she even wrote that.she could have used idea & plot into other well-developed story of her.

Its good thing that now i read 2 chapters & can decide whether i want to continue it or not.Like right now i am reading  Grand Vedetta but didnt like her other christmas story & this life.

I think when you write stories as quickly and frequently as Cara does it's bound to be hit and miss. I'll read pretty much anything so her stories haven't ever annoyed me, though This Life did get repetitive and cliché mobster but I think that was mostly due to it's length.

Started following a fair few WIPs recently, but I'm not going to read any of them until they're a bit further along. First is The Life Aquatic by coldplaywhore (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) which already has a decent number of chapters.
Then Miss Conception and Mis (ter) Understanding by samekraemer (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) just because the summary looked crazy!
Next is Departures by TheFicChick (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) mostly because I love this author.
Lastly, Washed Up by Emotion Masen (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) It is a drabble fic, which I dislike, but the chapters are a few hundred words each which makes it more tolerable and the author updates a couple of times per day.

Hopefully someone here can start following them too so I'm not alone in my field of WIPs  ;)

Life Aquatic is awesome... such a good story and Edward being such a young dad. Took me a bit to get into but once I started...totally worth it.
Departures is fantastic! I love all her stuff as well. Her updating is pretty regular.

I always try to not read WIP's because when they don't update or the author leaves the fandom *coughs* DurtyNelly *coughs* it makes me stabbier than I care to admit.   >:(

I'm gonna give the others you said a looksie :)
