So I'm trying to read Breaking the Silence by SparklingTwilight....OMG! for someone who doesn't talk she won't shut up.  I'm only 60 pages into a 900 plus page story & I'm ready to quit. If I have to read this inner monologue any longer , I'm tempted to gag her.  :-X  Sigh....   :banghead: :banghead:

So whoever rec'd it, does it stop soon or should I quit.  :P

I flounced it. Can't remember why. That's probably it!

Now personally, my inner monologues go on and on and round and round, like hamsters on a wheel.  Unfortunately, the fanfic writers tend to have their characters' inner monologues do the same thing.  While I am usually quite patient with my own inner ramblings, I don't want to read page after page of it in my fiction!  Sounds like it's time to skim, Ella.

Yeah, I'm afraid to admit I flounced after about 10 pages...I didn't even get as far as to find out WHY she doesn't speak..Let me know if it's worth it and I might go back...
LOL! Still waiting to find out.  I think she made a noise when her family was hiding from bad guys.  I've switched to another story.  I want to see if it is better.  I like the idea of the story, but if I want to get any farther the skimming will have to start.  I'll let you know if I go back to it ;)

Yeah, I got the inner monologues, but I don't argue with myself as much as she does. :P

So..reading Pound of Flesh, almost at the end of it and I have to say thoroughly enjoying it, but. I find myself skipping over the "intimate" scenes and turning pages thinking "please. PLEASE! Don't have s.e.x again!" What is that? Is there such a thing as Lemon Fatigue? Because I'm suffering from a great big dose of it...."oh, oh, oh!" "yes, yes yes!" "faster! deeper! harder!" "F. F. F!" Jesus wept! Enough already....

See? Case in point. "How about" Isabella panted "For now, we just have some amazing s.e.x?" And I thought. 'NO! How about you DON"T!"  :banghead:

I haven't read it yet, but I struggled with her other fic "Help Wanted".  Too many s.e.x. scenes.  I get what you're saying. I was thinking the same things while reading, I ended up skipping all the later ones.

Is there a lot of...s.e.x? Because quite frankly I don't know if I can take any more....I might have to join that fanfic author that found God on our other thread, what was her name? CellaCullen?  :D

OMG ROFL!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I thought I was the only one to think that while reading stories.  I was reading the Misapprehension of Bella Swan, and it was the same thing.  Though the part where she made a cape for the Monster C*ck  - well that was hilarious.  But yeah, a OS full of lemons is great.  A 350 page story full of lemons is too much.

I laughed til I cried..

But what gets me is that Jaxon is a really good writer and I think she sells herself short with all the gratuitous s.e.x. scenes.... I think she'd get the same amount of readers from just her writing alone, even she she toned down on the other stuff.

Yup! And Edward freaked when she got the scissors LOL! So funny.

Yeah, I would agree that she is a good writer.  I loved her other story - Help Wanted.  But then I love Actorward.

Not yet.  I hear it's good, but I only read the first few pages and never got back to it.  I'm flouncing left and right lately.  I need something good or I will have to reread something.  :P

Though I did just get a semi-new Scarpetta novel in..... murder - just what the doctor ordered...   ???

I wanted to read it but then I saw 600+ pages and put it off for another time.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for one of the first fics I ever read, it was about an English Edward who was to inherit a castle and needed an heir. Bella meets him working in a pub while pregnant and he hires her to pretend they've conceived the child together. Edward has awful fashion sense and Bella is quite flighty.

Thanks in advance, would love to revisit the nostalgia!
