Might as well stick with Jaxon22 and read A Pound of Flesh. It has been recommended here.

I am currently reading Wild by PeppahLouie and it is rather decent. There is a lot of descriptive writing about clothing and food, but a good story. So far.

I've only read one so far that Edward wasn't present at all (and I can't remember if Alice was either....I'm thinking not? It was The Quiet Room). And I didn't end the fic feeling that I was gypped out of something because Edward didn't make an appearance, it was actually a nice change from having him act like a spoiled twat like Matron mentioned

Most of what I've read so far has a square off of some sort between J and E.

Now I don't get it when people say Edward was manipulative and abusive in the book. Overly protective maybe, but then he thought he was a monster. And there were definite stalker tendencies, but it seemed necessary considering her penchant for attracting trouble.

Jake, however, was totally manipulative. That kind of pissed me off that she would accept crap from Jake but fight Edward when he was being protective. *shakes head*

I think there's a pretty fine line between over protective and manipulative. Keeping the truth from someone (like lying to Bella to get her to go to Florida because Alice saw Victoria coming) is a little bit more than over protective IMO.

And I'm not exactly sure what trouble Bella was going to attract while she was fast asleep in her bed <shrugs>.

I think that the biggest problem was the lack of communication for two people who were supposed to be so in love. I'm also bothered by the fact that supposedly shy Bella, who never felt that she deserved Edward, was the one pushing for sex. So OOC!

But then again, the books are an exercise in plot holes...

Lol, I remember trying to read a book book a couple of times when I was somewhat newer to the fandom.... I never got beyond the first couple of pages and only tried once or twice before giving up. If it's not Twilight characters there's no hope that it will keep my interest lol

I have somewhere around 250 j/b fics downloaded, pretty much anything completed and still on ffn, I have. I'm sure there will be quite a few that aren't fabulous writing so ill have to weed those out as I go.

Chippy may be able to give a better suggestion for some that don't have twatward

I think I told this story already, but I read my first non-canon by accident. It was B/J (

) and it was hinted from the very beginning that Edward had been killed by the Volturi, but not knowing that such a thing as non-canon existed, I kept waiting for him to show up. Son of a Preacher Man?

I think I told this story already, but I read my first non-canon by accident. It was B/J ( :D) and it was hinted from the very beginning that Edward had been killed by the Volturi, but not knowing that such a thing as non-canon existed, I kept waiting for him to show up. I was starting to get seriously confused when B and J got together, but the writing, story and characters were so well written I was kinda rooting for them and then I was dreading when Edward would show up. Of course he never did ^-^. And the rest, as they say, is history.

That was Running by Merina Green. And to be fair, it was more than hinted, just not confirmed. When I re-read it I laughed at myself for ever thinking Edward was gonna show up. I'm too new, I've read less than 25 fics total, I can't abandon the Edward fic yet, lol! Still too many out there. But right now, I'm all about the Jasper.

Oh, and I only have 125 Jasper ones saved so far, we need to compare notes, lol so I know I have all the most important ones.
