I've only read one so far that Edward wasn't present at all (and I can't remember if Alice was either....I'm thinking not? It was The Quiet Room). And I didn't end the fic feeling that I was gypped out of something because Edward didn't make an appearance, it was actually a nice change from having him act like a spoiled twat like Matron mentioned  :D :D

Most of what I've read so far has a square off of some sort between J and E.
Yeah, that wouldn't work for me. I'd always cheer for Edward.  Mostly blondes make me think of my baby brother (yeah the one that is 40 something :))

Jasper would only work if his competition is Jake LOL!

I'm too new, I've read less than 25 fics total, I can't abandon the Edward fic yet, lol! Still too many out there. But right now, I'm all about the Jasper.

Oh, and I only have 125 Jasper ones saved so far, we need to compare notes, lol so I know I have all the most important ones.

Oh, I'm sure I'll read Edward fics again....just probably not until I've exhausted all of the good Jasper ones lol.

See, I enjoy the square offs between the two over Bella. I'm enjoying that he ditches her, she moves on with J, E comes back into the picture and she basically tells him to f*ck off. Even though I love the saga (obv) and will always, on some level be an Edward fan, a small part of my feminist side does a fist pump when she doesn't take him back

And I never picture Jasper with blond hair. When I read, he's just like he is in my profile pic, darker haired hottie :)

See, that's not Jasper to me.  Gotta be blonde.  Personally, Jake is really more my type physically but I don't like his character

I don't mind them squaring off, I just hate how BAD they make Edward in all of them. You can really tell which authors absolutely loathe the guy. :D

Then I read a Bella/Paul fic on a total whim and it was GOOD. And then more I came on here and you would mention Jasper got me really thinking....I love his character. He's a total bad ass. I want to read some Jasper lovin'.

And I've not read an Edward fic since lol

I've not gone quite that far, but I'm more than happy to read non-cannon, as long as the plot is good and it's well written.

I think Emmett/Bella is my favourite non-cannon pairing, but there are not a whole lot of really good fics written about them. Same with Carlisle/Bella. Jasper/Edward stories are always good too. I've read a couple of very good ones. Man, I think I just have a thing for Twific, no matter the pairing...

I do know I haven't read a single Jake fic. He shows up once in a while, hates on Edward, and is never seen again, lol!

It's not that I dislike Jake, I just don't see him as romantic lead for Bella at all. He's more the friend/brother vibe, like Emmet.

I've read human and vamp Jasper fics, and much prefer the vamp ones. I like any time of Edward story though.

Ditto on all of this! Jake is always just the friend role to me. And, Emmett is always the brother role to me as Carlisle is the father.

The only wolf pairing I'll read is with Paul, the others just squick me out for some reason.

All that said, I couldn't imagine anything other E/B at one time and that's changed quite a bit so who knows lol

And while I love Jasper, Idk wtf was going on with his hair in the movies? I mean....what? It was just odd to me.

Poor Jackson, the stylists just screwed him ALL up in those movies! I think Alice looked best in the second movie, and the chick playing Rose is ALL wrong to me. Not pretty enough, and couldn't they have picked someone who WANTED to be blonde? It's not like blondes are tough to find in Hollywood! :D

Haha. I agree with you on the Paul thing, but as for Emmett, Jake and Carlisle, I can usually divorce them from their cannon roles if the fic is written well enough .

I usually see Jasper's hair as dark as well, but then I don't imagine him anything like Jackson either, possibly because of the crazy fake yellow hair.

There was a blonde actress that played Booth's love interest for a season who would have been a perfect Rosalie. Yet they hire an okay looking brunette & turn her into a blonde.  She is so not Rosalie to me.   >:(

A brunette who decided after the first movie that dying her hair blonde was too "rough" on her hair, and made them use tacky wigs in the rest of the movies, until the last couple, where they seem to have given up. She's not even blonde in the last one is she? Ashley Green is wearing a wig now as Alice too, and she looked so cute with the short hair in the first couple of movies.

Right?! I was watching a few clips from the older movies the other day and just kept thinking W.  T. F did they do that to his hair? Whhhyyyy

I don't remember Alice's hair in the second, but I liked it best in the first, it was more spikey as described and how I still, to this day picture it. But why is it so flat in the newest movies? They need new hair people for these films, fast

Agreed! I always thought Olivia Wilde (with her hair blond obv)  wld hv been a better Rosalie. For as earth shatteringly (idk if that's a real word, but I'm going w it) beautiful as Rosalie was described countless times, Nikki Reed doesn't fit that.

Yeah, but I think Nikki Reed was the director's stepdaughter.

Nope, totally not.  She's not bad looking, but Rose is supposed to be like drop dead gorgeous. IMO the only ones that really fit in that movie is Ashley Green as Alice, and Carlisle and Esme were pretty good. I think Jackson has tons of potential, they just didnt' use him enough, and made him look bad, and I dunno if Kellan Lutz is BIG enough to be Emmet, they always talk about how brawny he is.

Kristen Stewart LOOKS the part, but girl can't act at ALL. Pattinson is ok in other stuff, but is overly dramatic in these, and did they hire ANY Native Americans to play the Quilluettes? (I'm sure I spelled that wrong.)

I do know I was SHOCKED when I realized that was Charlie on Revolution on NBC. Looks totally different without the s'tache, so much younger!

I'm seriously unobservant because I never even looked close enough to notice they were wearing wigs

This is how I have always pictured Rosalie

Olivia Wilde would have been great. She's even blonde in whatever cosmetics ad she's doing right now.

I know Ashley Greene has to be wearing a wig, because she has such long hair in all her pictures and appearances. To me, she just looks like everyone else, but the short hair in the first two movies set her apart from the Hollywood crowd.

I have to agree, but I don't really like the films anyway. The books were so ridiculous on their own that when made into live action, with all the terrible acting and directing, it was just too hilarious for me to even begin to take seriously. Rob just has this false intensity, almost like he's play acting cause he can't take his character seriously and Kristen seems to just come the raw prawn. She always has such a sour look on her face.

I just stick to my fic. It's the best thing about Twilight by far.

Ashley would be fine if they did her wig right.

My vote for Rosalie would be for Katheryn Winnick.  I can't link it, but you can see her on IMDB.  And she's blonde.

Esme is also perfect when she wears her wig. Otherwise her hair is too dark.  I love Peter Facinelli, but he isn't really Carlisle.  Why didn't they hire blondes? Really?

Just Googled Kathryn, and she would have made a good Rosalie *nods*

I think they did good with casting Alice, Esme, Jasper (though they really effed his hair up) and Edward as far as appearances. Emmett should hv been bulkier and Rosalie and Carlisle should hv been blonds.  The dye job on Carlisle and Jasper were just bad. Peter does not wear blond hair well imo

And k stew.... She's awkward enough for the role, that's for sure. I just always pictured Bella as smaller.  And I guess Jasper should hv been taller, wasn't he supposed be to like 6'3 or something?
