This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

4 excruciating days later and I have:

Updated Calibre with my favs from Archive of Our Own, Fanfiction, TWCS, and Twilighted, but still need to do Fictionpad. I have organized, deleted duplicates, etc.
Then I created a separate library for my books and did the same. But this one I coordinated with Goodreads for the metadata and my rankings of the ones I have read.

No idea how the heck to make count pages plugin work.

Okay, I have a column called Pages and a column called Words.
In the customize Count Pages, I have page count options set to the Pages column (a numbers column) the Algorithm is E-book viewer

Under Word count options - custom column is set to the Words column

I have the readability options set to Words for reading ease and Pages for Grade. I don't know that this matters though.

In the FFDL plugin options under the Count Pages tab - I checked the page count, word count, and flesch reading ease.

In the custom columns I also have the Words column assigned to Words. So this is why I'm not sure the word count is necessary. l guess if the metadata provided by the site is there, it will grab it. Otherwise count pages will fill it in.

Let me know if that doesn't work...

I have the same problem but with configuring my TWCS acct to the plug in even though I followed the instructions, and 'till this day it still asks me for my user and password $:-\$ $:-\$ $:-\$ $:-\$

I had issues with all the websites. I was just typing in my info where YOURNAME ans YOURPASSWORD were:

Ex:
[www.twiwrite.net]
#username:YourName
#password:Yourpassword
## default is false
#collect_series: true

But I have discovered it doesn't like the # in front of the username nor the password. So for TWCS, as well as all the others, mine looks like this:

[www.thewriterscoffeeshop.com]
username:XXXXXXXX no spaces after the :
password:XXXXXXXX no spaces after the :
#is_adult:true
## default is false
#collect_series: true

Did you have the pages checked on the count pages tab in the FFDL plugin configuration?

My column is set up as pagecount for the name, Pages for the column heading and Floating point numbers for the column type.

In Count Pages, I show the options of Pages, Words, & Chapters. They are all Floating point number columns.

Hmmm, I don't know what else to tell you.

Yes. I just updated a story I was following at ff.net. I got PAGE COUNT. *twirls in circle*
I just clicked the icon and had it do all of my library.

I have so many pdf's though. Sigh. It doesn't work on them until I convert them.

if you convert them, don't forget to enable the heuristic thing. For some reason, I have less problems with the results when I use it.

And still most won't convert well.

I feel your pain. It seems all I do is work as well. I am not embarrassed over my age, as a birthday is better than the alternative. My oldest isn't much younger than Rob, but you can guar....en...tee I would take double my vitamins for a twirl.

I leave home on 20 June and arrive in New York (after nearly 48 hours of travel!) on the evening of 21 June.

I'm visiting NYC - 21 June to 25 June.
Atlanta - 25 June to 29 June.
Chicago - 29 June to 3 July
Seattle - 3 July - 9 July.

Quick stop at LAX then back to Brisbane on 11 July and then home on Sunday, 13 July. Then another week off work to recover.

I'm so excited! I need to know what I need to see and do in each city, and if anyone is close by to meet in person!

Any travel tips? Secrets only the locals know? Places to avoid?

If you want to go inside the Statue of Liberty, you need to get an appointment now. We didn't know this and only found out when we got there that the next available slots were almost a year later. It was crazy. And you can still go to Liberty Island without the appointment. You just can't go into the statue.

Also? There is some deal you can buy a coupon book for a bunch of different things like Liberty Island, Ellis Island and the Empire State Building for a lot less than going to all the sites individually. I think it included a museum or two as well.

Chicago has a great river tour that goes into Lake Michigan - I enjoyed that. I actually liked the John Hancock building better than Sears Tower - it is no longer Sears Tower. But that was because you could go up to the viewing deck at night there and the lights were gorgeous. The Sears Tower was so fogged in the day I went, it was almost worthless. it's been a while since I was there, so there may be changes.

And Seattle - My favorite thing is Pike's Place Market. There are a lot of stores around there. It is fun. I like the ferries and the waterfront is really nice. If you have a car, you can spend a day at Mt Rainier and see snow in the summer.

All I know about Atlanta is the airport. And I don't really recommend it! There is the Coca Cola Factory there. I think the HQ is based out of there. I've heard good things about it.
