This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Hey Ladies
I know most of us bemoaned the length of our libraries/TBR lists...I was thinking what would happen if I just started at the bottom, the first fic I ever saved and just worked my way up? Steadfastly, not letting myself get distracted...keep adding to it, but at least clearing some of the back-log....I don't know if it would work. Astro, what happened when you started reading yours in alphabetical order over last year's summer holidays?

I use the reading list plugin to get a new TBR after I finished the last one on my kindle. So whenever I find a new book I want to read, I put it on my new TBR and there it stays until my kindle is out of books. When I start refilling my kindle, I use the "go to random book" button to add random books I wouldn't find/think of reading atm... So I get to read fics I forgot about.

The things we do for love...the things we accept because it's Edward. *swoons* Like a man who's domineering and obsessive outside of the bedroom.

I'm with you Ella on the lemons. And I agree with a comment you've mentioned before... Lemons don't bother me in erotica perhaps because I'm expecting them, but in FF they can be such a turn off when there's too many of them, which can easily happen when an author plots out the story as a WIP rather than a cohesive whole.

I'm a little jealous of those of you reading vampward right now (Grasping Darkness, Creature of Habit, My Mate) and am tempted to shelve the HP series I'm immersed in, but I just can't. I'm on the Hogwarts Express and really enjoying G. Norman Lippert's ride! *chug, chug, chug, Whoohoo!*

I totally agree. I like a possessive, domineering tortured broken Edward. Yet if I met someone in real life this way......I would probably end his manhood, run screaming the opposite way until I had lost my voice and collapsed from running.

Guess when I like my fiction its waaaay out there. LOL.

As far as vamp fics. I really don't read them usually until October and then I want one. I don't like horror fics so this is as close as I come.

As far as Grasping Darkness, it is true it started as a one shot, and as most authors who turn it into a fic, they back up to go forward. Kiyaraven's lemonade is so good and my kind of thing. She does it very well without repeating the same thing. I don't remember the eloquent details of all of them... but they will get less as the plot unfolds. I do remember

Thank you for the detailed instructions. I will have to bookmark this post so I can come back to it once I get around to attempting this move. The library isn't very big, so it will prolly fit on a flash drive, I just have to sort out my stories from my husband's e books and hope that when it transfers it keeps the metadata with all of the covers that I downloaded or created.

story have that “story-picture “ that picture will be that story/book cover.

Firstly they pulled stories and now when we try to save those stories they do this???

FFN.net was founded in 1998, fifteen years ago; you would think the owner of FFN is adult.

My story saving project is now “on hold”

because that Flag not save those stories
last chapters. So many stories waiting are saved…
When I finish saving Twilight, I start to save True Blood, Southern Vampire Mysteries,
Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones and A song of Ice and Fire.
Seems my saving project is never ending story…..

Maybe I start a new project while I wait that Flag to work properly:

Save all those stories there = Index to Uploaded Stories =.

oh well, my current number saved stories is over 2000

I flagged several things today and all of them were good from fanfiction.net.
I have a tendency to have them emailed to myself. Then when I get home on my ipad, I can download them, or eventually download into calibre if I ever boot my laptop again.

Per flagfic:

Update [2013-10-14 07:25 UTC]: FLAG is currently fetching ffnet stories via additional new infrastructure at another hosting provider. All downloads from ffnet should be working, but please note that recently-posted chapters may not always show up immediately (all chapters will be present in less than ten days after their publication date, often a lot less). Delays will be slowly reduced as the rest of the new infrastructure is set up. This message will be updated again when I have more information.

I would appreciate it if you could complain via support@fanfiction.com or @FICTIONPRESS and ask them to please contact me - they have not replied to me via either email or Twitter, and after several days they still haven't fixed the issue on their end which is causing the current connection problems.

I have tried now so many different stories to save, even older ones. Every time same thing

I know, im crazy. But sometimes i dont have time to read it all in one sit. Or some fics just work better as wip. Like with some having too much s.e.x in each chapter. I know. Crazy.
I like the feeling of having a new chapter on my inbox.
When it is a really great fic and you drop everything to read the new chapter.

Bookmark the post? hmmmm. I have been here years, and I know we can bookmark a forum, but an individual post? How?

I find that when you bookmark a PAGE, the next time you click on that bookmark, it will open up to the same page. I just scroll down to the post.

However, i experimented just now with my ipad:
I clicked on the post
Chose "open in new tab"
After the page opened showing the exact post, i bookmarked it
Then i closed the tabs and opened a new one, clicked on the bookmarki created, it opened to the exact post

I have to admit doing it 2 other ways:
I click on the post
Choose "copy"
Open a word doc and paste the link there with a brief description.

Alternatively, i copied the entire post into a word doc. This i did for most of the instructions the gals posted here regarding pictures, linking, embedding etc

haven't gotten around to saving the calibre instructions as am afraid to start and it blow up to a new OCD of mine

am very happy to only just convert files and merge epubs with it
