You liked that one a lot? I was wondering about it. I know nothing about LARP so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get into it.

It was a cute short story. Bella gets bossed around at work. Only when Edward tried to get her to do his work, she turns out not to be as um shy and a pushover-y as he thought. LOL!

Even though I knew it was coming and expected it, it still made me sob up at the ski lodge in front of everyone. No tissues in sight. And my throat felt like I was trying to swallow a baseball since I was trying to be a silent sobbing crying mess. LOL I'm not one to cry over stories much but both Contractually Bound and The Butterfly Effect (both by LyricalKris) had me bawling something fierce. Sadly both fics you know it is coming but I think she builds her characters up enough that when it happens it is just too difficult to let them go. Which is saying something about her as a writer, I think.

Thanks. I can deal with it when it's something I expect. Not to say I won't cry. Shoot, I cried when Bella's human daughter died of old age in a vampfic. Totally expected, but sad nonetheless.

And I figured the past was something stupid they should have talked out just from the first chapter. So thanks for the spoiler.

I read Contractually Bound on a separate account by the original authors. I guess LyricalKris adopted it, so I went into it really confused because I'd already read it but it wasn't finished and then when I got to the end I was sort of let down, like you. I enjoyed Parenthetical Love and As Yet So Far. I'd label them family/romance/drama's that ended on happy notes. I loved the Butterfly Effect! She's got so many stories they all kind of mesh together if I go back and think to when I read through them. I recall skimming through Do The Right Thing and My Biggest Mistake, My Greatest Salvation and liking them.

Since she's got so many to choose from, I think of her little library as those serial romance novels you can get at the store for a quick read that's well written. The Butterfly Effect was so good though.

Did it honestly get that bad? I read a few chapters here and there, meaning I read the first chapter, got bored and skimmed a few more close to the end. I don't know. I was just so appalled by the first chapters hurried introduction. Then I switched to the sequel thinking it would shed more light since it was from Edward's Point of View but it just ended up

which would have been fine. But I didn't particularly like any of the characters.

A few posts back there was mention of getting burned by WIP stories, and I ran into one last week and I'm still really bummed about it.

I didn't touch it for the longest time, because the age difference squicked me out and I just couldn't get past the first chapter. Finally got bored and was reading on my cell phone and the mobile browser on ff.net does not tell you whether stories are complete or not, so I was getting all into it and counting down the chapters thinking that the author was getting ready to wrap everything up with a bow because the end was nearing...until it ended and it hasn't been updated in more than a year and a half. LAME!

There's a little "c" in the right corner of the mobile version (just left from the number of reviews which are displayed in the right corner), if the story is complete. Can you see this on your phone? If the "c" is lacking, the story is incomplete. But I guess the "c" is really tiny on a cell phone and hard to see.

But Edward Norton getting his @ss kicked in Fight Club? That always does it for me. He is such a puppy turned psycho. Bonus: Brad Pitt

I think it is just a matter of opinion. And I'm very opinionated, that's all Still, you really should check this movie out.

I FLOVE Fight Club it's my 2nd fave film ever after The Usual Suspects.
Ed Norton in that just gets me so excited, the hubby will put it on now and again just for that reason.

Yes I did, and it's 3 books so it is a commitment, but, it is one of the best books I've ever read, fullstop.

So I've read my first Twific (Funny how I write that, as if I read any other FF) since forever. And it was...Sheet! I've forgotten...(quick check. My alzheimer is no longer 'early onset' it has set and buying furniture)...By Way Of Sorrow by Jaxington. I'm not a huge fan of Vamp stories but if I find a good one then...and this one was actually pretty good. The premise was interesting, which was why I plucked it from my TBR and I'm a fan of this Bella (she's kinda major) And when it ended I remember thinking ' I wouldn't mind being a vampire' which in all the years I've read Twific I have NEVER thought! So, I'm not sure if absence made the heart grow fonder or this was really just a great story but I do recommend it if Vamp is your thing..

When I read your post I went and looked on my Calibre 'read' column to see what I could recommend and honestly? I'm a huge Angsthoor! I have read hardly any lighthearted fics (or if I have I certainly don't remember them even by reading the summary!) the only true laugh out loud fic that I can remember enjoying was The Real Life if Edward Cullen by Vancouver-Canuck-Girl other than that the below are my piddly recs.

Me and Mum Fell In Love With Edward- its Counselor so there is an undercurrent of something not quite jolly about this tale (which eventually comes to light but...) but Bella is a quip queen and I laughed at a lot of her observations of Renee, Alice and life in general.

Died and Gone to Heaven by DoUTrustMe - is short, funny and sexy.

Pinky Swear by KhariZZmatiK. If you liked My Best Friends Wedding then this, maybe?

How to Fix a Pretty Boy by XquisiteProdigy. This IS actually funny; Edward is an Italian model and what with his accent and his cockiness and Bella's sarcasm there's plenty of humour to be had...

Living Backwards by Ciaobella27. Of them all this is my favourite HS fic. Bella is transported back in time to HS (where she was a wallflower) with all the confidence of her 20 something self. This was one of the first fics I ever read and I remember having a giggle, it's pretty lighearted fun and I loved it back then....before I became a Hoor

This is a sad state of affairs, 5 fics? Considering I have read hundreds?! *shakes head* I need therapy on top of my therapy...
