Isn't there a twilight fic that is sorta like Pretty Woman?  I remember someone recommending it recently and now I can't find the title.   Wait, is this the right thread for this question?  Let me know and I can move it. :)

Yes there is, it's called Lady of the Knight by ObessingOverEdward. I haven't read it yet, I do have it on my reading list.  :)

Right now I am reading There is a Light by belladonnacullen. I am hoping it's an HEA  :o

LOL, when my daughters and I visited in 2010 we didn't see a drop of rain the whole week we were there.  The girls were a bit disappointed.
I must have been there that week.  :D :D :D :D

I love, love, love There is a Light by belladonnacullen.  It is angsty, but fabulous.  The summary didn't pull me in, but the actual writing in the story is so beautiful.

I did go to Vancouver last October.  I flew into Seattle, then drove to Vancouver.  It's gorgeous.  Not much rain while I was there, but lots of fog, which, for me, was a nice effect.  Especially when the ships would just appear out of the fog and there was a fog horn...
Now, my friend who lives in Vancouver has a phobia about driving over bridges in the fog, so we'd switch out if a foggy bridge was coming up and I'd drive over the bridge.  She did the rest of the driving since she knew her way around.  We went to Victoria and had tea at the Empress and visited a Scottish robber baron's castle.  I loved it, although next time I'd like to spend some time in Seattle that is not in the airport.  I thought I was going to drive to Vancouver via Forks, but it's a 3 hour drive (not counting time spent in lines while crossing the border) to Vancouver if you just drive up the freeway, but it's a 7or 9 hour drive (if I'm remembering correctly) to Vancouver is you veer over onto the peninsula which Forks is on the tip of, to visit Forks and take the ferry from there.  Soooo, I didn't make it to Forks or Port Angeles.  There's always next time, cuz I'd really like to see the beach there.

There's nothing I love more than authors writing Edward with cats! Just finished Hideous Cygnus by savannavansmutsmut, which was all over the place but totally redeemed with Edward's little Cat Daddy plot  :P I know Edward Wallbanger and Sideline Collision both have kitties in them. Have any of you come across any more?

Edward enjoys his life as a cat. It's simple, pleasant and orderly. But when Bella arrives he must teach her the way of things, and in the process discovers that he has a lot to learn.

You Were There by harperpitt has a cat and I think there are a few entries, either in the story or the outtakes, from the cat's POV.

LOL that was perfect! I love the tone this was written in because that is exactly how most cats behave, elitist and sneaky!

I really have to give that a try again. I could not get into it when it was recced. Idk, it just did not grab me but almost everyone  loves it
Let me know if it's good all the way.

flounced the first chapter a couple of times, didn't like the way I assumed Bella was going, all that stomping on the bar and pouring booze everywhere, but everyone said it was good so I persevered and loved it , all the way through once I got past chapter one .... bottom line ...read it ! You will love it.

Hello ladies, I need some help and I think (hope) you all can give it to me.  I need to get the stories from my pocket fiction app to my iBooks and have no clue how.  Any tips on the best way to get ffn stories to iBooks is also appreciated.  I only have an ipad to work with so nothing that involves a computer is gonna work.  If I did this wrong I apologize.  :sign0085:

I always thought that jersey was a type of shirt. Y'know, football jersey, I've heard that phrase before. I thought a jumper was a type of pullover dress, one where you wore a shirt under because it was sleeveless?! Vest/pullover was a sweater type deal.  Thanks to the Brits on here to keep us on the right path.
Two 'isms I really like are sleeping policeman and knackerd ....hope I spelt that correctly

We tend to just say Rugby shirt, I don't hear jersey used very much, like I say my Dad uses it when he means a jumper/sweater, (buthe's 79) but it's not a word I use unless it's to describe that finely ribbed, stretchy type of fabric...a jersey dress (which I just realized is what you meant  :D :D) but we wouldn't call them a jersey on it's own because it's like calling a silk blouse a silk, it is the type of material rather than the style.

It's been a massive learning curve. When I first started writing fics I wrote Edward saying Bloody Hell, and my pre reader laughed lol. I catch a lot of the Britishisms now, but I'm still finding unusual ones even now, like Edward has some pepper in a baggie in his pocket to throw in someone's eyes if they attack him and I said something like, "he slid his fingers in his pocket, relieved to feel the polythene there" she picked me up on the use of polythene. She thinks it cute when she finds them, always says that's very British, which if fine, because you are lol,

I agree Knackered is a great word too. For anyone who doesn't know sleeping policemen are humps in the road designed to slow the speed of traffic (speed bumps)

Does Alcatraz count?  All I know is from TV shows. Though some are reality so those would be fairly correct. I would think gaols and jails would be similar LOL!    I think our prison systems are mostly the same. Though sentence times may be different. California prisons are so over crowded with the three strikes law (a good idea that should have been limited to certain crimes) that they let guys out for good behavior a lot earlier than they sometimes should. (Think Lindsay Lohan) Other than that, it should be similar. ;)

I've seen a fair few documentaries and I've read loads of information on the net, it seems most prisons are slightly different in how they do things and of course there are different levels of security from institution to institution. It's been really interesting, even little things like how do they shave or get haircuts? That we don't really think about have had to be researched...like I say some of these things I'm going off what I found out for British prisons, but at the end of the day it's fiction so they should cut me some slack if I'm a little bit off here and there. LOL

I'm giving Ed an 8 year sentence for viciously beating a guy to a pulp (left him with severe brain damage) and the judge took his refusal to speak or explain why he did it as arrogance, so gave him a hefty sentence, but I'm having him out after 6. (Again, I know this doesn't make the fic sound appealing, but trust me, if I could give you whole the plot outline, you'd be intrigued.)

I don't own an iPad, so I am a little limited in the help I can give.

From what I can see of pocket fiction app, does it actually download a story or does it take you to FFnet? If it downloads a story, there may be a way to find the file.  Apple has their system so closed it is hard to access stuff, making it difficult to do anything like changing formats without a computer and iTunes.

The only real help I can give now that Flagfic is not working is my Calibre library in my Google drive.  They are all pretty much available in epub, which is what iBooks reads.  If you click the link in my signature below, then click on the Google Drive icon in the top left corner, you can search for stories you want and download them.  Make sure you get hte epub version as I also have mobis (I have a Kindle)

Once you download onto your iPad, when you click to open it, it should ask if you want to open it in iBooks, Once you do, it should be in your library.   ;D

8 years sounds about right.  As does getting out early for good behavior.  I'm assuming we forgive him because the guy did something bad to someone he loves.... ;)

Spot on...Eddie did it for the right reasons, and he will transform from a boy to a man while he's inside, shaped by his experiences. I'm about half way through writing and truly loving it. He will be coming out to climb back on to the saddle of his late fathers Harley, older and wiser than Bella remembers. He might get the girl, but will he be too damaged to keep her???

Hello!!!
I hope you are all keeping safe in this weird weather that we are having, unfortunately we lost our house, car etc in the floods and our village had to be evacuated by Marines.

So the only plus side is (much to the hubby's amusement) I was felt up by a Marine while they were trying to help us into the life boat.  :P
We are now staying at my in-laws, which is weird as I've not lived with any parents since I moved out of home at 15. So it means and the hubby have to be even more discrete than usual as his Mum and Dad are in the next room.l  ^-^ :D :D

Right, I'm going to go back and read the 20 pages I need to catch up on.  :D :-*

I had been wondering how badly you had been affected. Sorry about your house and car - how bad is it now?
Hope everyone is okay.
