I'd bet my last bag of Wotsits that there are students in Oxford/Cambridge that wouldn't know that's a word for atrium! I did Latin all through school I had to look it up!  No one uses that word..WTF?

Sorry! See I'm as bad as...errr? Romany Whatnow? Yes, Cheetos are the equivalent but they don't taste the same.  There's stuff which is OK to use in food in the US which isn't here and it really makes the difference...to all our relative foodstuff..

Is an aula an auditorium?  Because I have been reading British fiction since I was a kid, and I've never heard that word before.

It's an atrium, so you're right, but it's latin, and certainly not a common usage word, don't think many people in the street would know it

Oh hell, you'll laugh and may never speak to me again... is Eddie Izzard...I know, I know it's a really weird one, but I met him in 1996 after I saw his show in Liverpool. I stood in line and watched him sign autographs and chat to other people and I was fine, in fact I thought, wow, he's a lot shorter than I imagined, and he had these pinstripe jeans and I remember thinking I liked them, but I was okay, not over excited or anything, just wanted him to sign my program and then it was my turn and he looked at me and wham, it was like I'd been poleaxed...honestly, I've never experienced anything like that before and I've worked in a bank for over 20 years, I must've spoken to tens of thousands of men and no one has ever affected me like that. If he'd have said, "get in the car you're coming to London with me," I'd have gone, even though I was there with my then husband. He must've thought I was really thick, because he asked me my name and I had to think about it! I'd love to meet him again, just to see if it happened again LOL.

Update: i am not enjoying the Reunion by Keeperofthenaughtysparkle. Not worth the long read IMO. Just when we gals were talking about too many lemons, lucky me to have actually been reading one. Worse, the actual writing of the moan "unnnnnh" or variation thereof also appears.

It was going pretty well the first few chapters, then she just lost me for some reason. Guess the writing isn't keeping me invested in the characters/story. Am on page 520, i mostly skim and just look for some of the conversations. Can't wait to finally "finish" this and move on. I also have a hard time flouncing

You know that saying about insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Every Time, every, single, time, I'm in the US I buy Twizzlers imagining they'll taste like our Strawberry Laces and every time they end up in a bin somewhere alongside the half chewed...matter I've had to spit out  .  The only consistent sweets I've come across that translate well in both countries are Haribos and Jelly Bellys.

WHAT?! I really want to use a British-ism, but I'm not sure that our cousins will take it in the way we do in the UK...but 'off' is normally tagged at the end of it!  I'm speechless! Fassy is 2 down from Izzard?! (Where is Loop?!) He'd have to hit me over the head with a mallet  to get me in a car with him? Plus, doesn't he bat for the other side? I've gone to sleep and woken up in Cray Cray Land!!  OK I've run out of exclamation marks. QD you are?....I've no words

I know, I fancy some too, but the cupboard was bare! BTW, I was in Morrisons today and they are selling Fish and Chips again...but they're not quite as good as they used to be.
