Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

I seriously need to watch it then as I've spent most of the time crying, it started with me not being able to reach down to tie up my laces then got worse (I blame Glee for that though). :D
I've got it downloading at the moment.

Enjoy.    :-* :-* :-*

And I'm so upset about FLAG. I don't like the idea of being emailed my stories, so I guess I have no choice but to install calibre. I hope it works on the old mac that I have that I read on. The whole idea of installing it and downloading FFDL makes me queasy. I've read enough of your posts to be worried.

It's also making me question whether I should go out and buy a reader. Actually my mom wants one too and she doesn't have wireless on her computer. What kind of reader would any of you recommend for her? She's older and needs big type, as well as something REALLY EASY to work on. She's a bit technophobic, but a voracious reader. She's has limited mobility, so I think this might be the thing she needs. Any recs on something cheap? It doesn't have to be the cheapest. I also think it would be best to get her something that reads epubs rather than mobi files. Thoughts?

I remember when I first started reading Twific I was accumulating fics like crazy; I got to around 150- 200 (this was a month into my new addiction) and I asked a question on this thread, I think we were on thread one. "How do you ladies save and store your fanfics" Matron, I think, mentioned Calibre; Ella, RDM and I spent a weekend (separately, across continents) downloading and sorting, Ella became the Calibre guru and I have never looked back.  It was a huge pain in the arse, it was, I won't lie, getting all your stories into Calibre, and setting up the columns, and the right settings; but it is the best way to keep all my fics straight. I'm glad I asked that question right at the start of this craziness so that now I've just got into the habit and it's right there without having to think about it.....And you have an advantage on me...Ms Ella, she was a novice when I started. Now? Gold medallist  :D :D :D

I think for your mother a Kindle might be the best bet, I think that is probably the reader that feels closer to a book? For you? An iPad. Why? They're the sexiest :NeenerNeener:  :D :D :D

I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to covers on my fics so I just upload them onto Calibre, find the cover on Google and then add it that way.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Aww that's sweet of you to think of me, I'm okay - me and bump are doing well.
Me and the hubby are arguing over what to name her but all is fine.  :)

Glad you and your bump are doing good.  We found out ours is a boy, and while we agree on the first name (my husband had it picked out before we were married) he has now decided the middle name should come from a Star Wars character, and while I am a big Star Wars fan, I definitely don't think our son should be named after it.

My 92 year old grandma uses a Sony e reader (sorry I don't know which one) but she goes through books like crazy and is able to check out books from the library with it and manages the technical side of it pretty good, I think.  She does live with my uncle who helps her some, but she really likes it.  Also with any reader, they are more lightweight than some hardcover books.

I have a Kobo Mini and I love it, my husband has the Kobo Glo which has a light feature that I wish the Mini came with.  My husband picked the Kobos because the work great with epubs and you don't have to worry about drm files as with a Kindle (or at least that is what he says, or something like that). Mine is rather small, and while I have to turn the page more often, the size really works for me.  The biggest difference between an e reader and an ipad or any other tablet device (Kindle Fire included) is the e ink, for me it is much easier to read on my reader than my tablet, on my tablet it is still like looking at a computer screen and I get headaches if I read for too long on my tablet, but can read for hours on my Kobo.

Lol, my hubby would name our kids after types of Bikes as he loves his motorbikes - I like them but don't wanna name my kids after them though so I totally get where you're coming from hun.
I think me and the hubby have chosen a middle name but can't agree on a first name.
But we have until February so we (meaning me  :P) still have time to decide a name.
You're due March aren't you hun? So at least you have time to persuade your hubby to choose a different name before your little boy is born.  :D :-*

Your poor nephew, hope he gets better soon.   :-*

Thanks Caro,  Apparently they did the NFL congnitive test on him.  The NFL considers a severe brain injury a .2% score on their test.  My nephew scored a .09%.  We just keep praying.

So I randomly picked from the few that you guys recommended and I ended up starting Sexy Silk.   I'm loving it so far!  Such a huge change from the other Famouswards I've read!  I love that she is confident unlike all the other ones I've read where the h is weak.

Hi all!  I've been lurking because I've been all caught up in Jodi Ellen Malpas' This Man trilogy. I almost didn't read it because of FFG's negative review. I was mostly agreeing with her during my read of the first book, but I kept holding out hope for more. The lead hero did remind me of a domineering ex I had and not in a good way. I'm glad I stuck with it though. (Also, the SPaGs, which were horrendous for the first book, have gotten less and less through the books). But I stuck with the story and have been enjoying it. It's different. I've only got 100 pages left of the last book so I'm here stalling because I don't want it to end.

And I'm so upset about FLAG. I don't like the idea of being emailed my stories, so I guess I have no choice but to install calibre. I hope it works on the old mac that I have that I read on. You know, I just wasn't that crazy about the first two "This Man" books.  I'm not sure what it was but I felt like something was off.  Well, I was disappointed in the first one because of the awful cliffhanger.   I  need to read the last one just to finish out the series.  I think maybe I read them too closed to Bared to You and was comparing the two?

I am a huge fan of the Kindle Paperwhite.    The e-ink screen that only the Kindles have will be SO much easier on her eyes and she can read it in full sunlight with no glare.

Still on my Journey Up and I've come to Ladder To The Sun by Rosybud. When it started I wasn't holding my breath I didn't like the beginning but I am now 133/290 along and I'm crying like a baby. I have no idea if this is HEA or not (and I don't want to!  :D)  But, it's pretty well written and not too cliché in terms of characterisation, Edward has not proclaimed everlasting love for Bella within an hour "Bella, you know I don't…" he stuttered uncertainly. "I don't feel the same way… I don't love you." "I like you; I really do like you Bella-but just not that way." I'm really enjoying it!

That's the problem Bella Swan faces when she's told she only has a year to live.

Yeah, I am due in March, and we were able to decide on our daughter's name pretty well together, so I'm not too worried.

He actually wanted the middle name to be Calrissian!?!  I am all for unique names but not that.

OK. So I'm now confidently recommending this li' fic. Only 22 Chapters...angsty but breezy; it's the Notebook, not A French Lieutenant's Woman. Weeped it, loved it, moving on from it.

Cause I'm moving on up
You're moving on out
Moving on up
Nothing can stop me
I'm moving on up
You're moving on out
Time to break free
Nothing can stop me
* dancing round the house*
