• Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

For those of us that are signed up to get author update alerts from TWCS is it working for you?  I do not get the alerts anymore,  i have  changed the email address and nothing. It is frustrating

The last email update I got was last week. But I went and logged in to peak and the stories I am following and I have had updates too, but no emails.

Oh  FBIward. Like The Geheime Vernietiging??     Gulps.   >:D

I think I found my next fic after I finish the book, South of Surrender by Laura Kaye.

You should it is sooo good, I think this might be my first FBIward, I'm so impressed'; she manages to create a really good 'edge of your seat' atmosphere. I can't reccommend this fic enough...What is the 'The Geheime Vernietiging'?

It is uploaded here. She had originally pulled it as well as the sequel thinking she would publish. Something happened and she didn't so she just started reposting.

I have had a copy for awhile, but I read it from FF.net so I would be a good girl and review. The sequel is still a wip and it has been awhile without updates. However, you don't have to read the sequel. The first one ended just fine without it.

So I finished The Breakers by Les16, and I liked it. I hope you don't mind a slight difference in opinion, but I was surprised by how many people LOVED it. I mean, it was good, don't get me wrong, but I found myself kind of skimming a bit here and there. Probably because I couldn't get enough of Edward--he was absolutely wonderful. I was glad he wasn't written as cynical as his character probably should have been. And I adored the little girl. It was written well and had enough action, angst and drama to keep me entertained. It had a lot of fluff though and I guess I'm starting to realize that's just not my thing (usually). I'm glad I read it though, thanks for the rec.

After spending 7 years in prison, Edward gets a new start in the fishing village of Corea, Maine. Can a little girl and her mom, Bella, see beyond his past and can they all find love again...or will the ocean swallow them whole?

I was thinking of giving Terroir by Thimbles a shot as many of you seemed to really like that one, but I couldn't figure out what kind of fic it is when reading up on it. Is it all fluff? I don't know why I keep fearing that it is.
Just finished The Breakers this weekend - I quite liked it, but I totally get why you skimmed it hun.

I got that notification on my phone when I was in a meeting and I did a fit pump with a load "Hell Yeah! You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login" as you can imagine I got a few weird looks.... :D :D If there is one writer that I adore equal to MaryElizabeth it's YellowGlue; the woman is a lyricist.
Its a proper 'epic love story' isn't it? I have to say that I've read other books by Paullina and she is just a really good writer; Red Leaves is a good read and so is Tully....

I am really enjoying Thief Of Hearts by Pattyrose, it's FBIward and a real thriller 'page turner' or...scroll-er  as the case may be  :D
Okay confession - I might of fangirled liked a 12 year old when I saw that she was posted this.  ^-^

I'm with you hun - I think her and MaryElizabeth are both great, it's shame they fell out though.  :(

Mmm - imagine sharing that with this:

FYI, Thimbles has started another fic this week: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Pregnancy is an entirely natural process, one I'd studied and seen in all its stages. Yet in that moment, knowing that Bella was carrying our child, a little person somehow knit together from her and me, and the love we shared, it seemed a strange miracle—she seemed a strange miracle. Life, loss, love, and hope.

This one has a big angst warning for Chapter 1.
OMG, that pic.
Damn you hun, I now have to wait until the hubby gets home as I can't "play with toys" as I have a house full of my daughters friends again.  ^-^ :D
TMI - oh well, you should know me by now.  :P

I'm reading Thimbles new fic - I can tell I'm gonna be addicted to it in no time.  :)

Speaking about TMI. remember a couple of post ago I mentioned not reading ANs? Well still reading Thief, (what can I say, *shrug* its been a busy week) and Patty writes "A couple of people asked whether Edward wore a condom during their second time last chapter. He didn't. He used the pull-out method". For the love of all that's holy! WTF?! Why would anyone ask that? It's fiction for christsakes! Not a PBS broadcast. It's rated M, which I assume means 'mature', by which time you should know the mechanics of sex and the pro and cons of doing it unprotected...who sits there and reads a story and say "ooooh, did this fictional character wrap it before he tapped it!" Numbnuts... ::) And then for her to feel the need to explain the 'method'?! Authors should stop humouring idiocy...

Rant over.  I'm 'ranting' a lot; I think it best I go back to not reading ANs

Riiight?! Dem mofos be crazy! Poor Patty, I don't know what she's thinking in some of her ANs; I'd just ignore all of the silly, stupid, stuff readers go on about and concentrate on the story...

:D :D :D :D :D You made my day, thank you for sharing! TMI authors, gotta love 'em or not. That reminds me of Anchalee's fic a few days ago about Bella shaving her underarms. Do we really need to know that?  No, not really...just too much information sometimes.  :)

Bella's life was in shambles until she took a chance and rediscovered a love that refused to die...AU, B/E, HEA. This story has a fantastic twist that most don't see coming. If you're looking for a "realistic" story, this aint it, but there are absolutely NO VAMPIRES!
Follow/FavoriteRated: Fiction M - English - Romance/Fantasy - Bella & Edward - Chapters: 44 - Words: 77,949 - Reviews: 1,782 - Favs: 455 - Follows: 707 - Updated: 08-16-13 - Published: 03-27-13 - Status: Complete - id: 9142460

I loved this story! Well more like the concept of it.

But not everybody might like it, there is mention of something that might weird some people out.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

I know... it's a bit creepy, but it didn't really bother me because well they weren't really related.

And you will be surprised, the author has you guessing a bit because she based this in a movie and she didn't say what movie it was until  later chapters. I guessed and I was right. :)

Thank you for this rec! I really liked it, and it was such a quick read. For the first time ever, I actually read the whole thing online instead of downloading it--staying up last night to finish it. I liked how it ended, so I think I might skip the alternative ending that Loopy mentioned. Their relationship issue was a little weird, but I wasn't uncomfortable, but I could see how others might feel so.

P.S. Loved your spoiler. It made me want to read the fic!

You'd be surprised by the amount of authors that need to confirm that! I've seen that a lot .... annother one I see a lot is the author telling them that No Bella wont get pregnant because he didn't use a comdom... she assures them shes on the pill.  :D :D :D
