This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement. 

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

The thing is, it's not the authors so much as the readers asking such questions I don't get..it has nothing to do with the plot whether Edward 'withdraws' at the point of ejaculation or if there's an unplanned pregnancy then that's part of the plot and it'll reveal itself in time...WHY would you need to know this in advance? *shakes head* I do think though, sometimes, that there's a whole swath of Fanfic reader that are just batty; thankfully they have not found their way into our little enclave..You are not allowed to view links. There seems to be a "Protection Police" around, review-yelling at writers who don't mention birthcontrol. Obviously, fanfic writers have a responsibility against their readers and have to make very clear how Edward and Bella use protection, so no little 13 year old girl reads those mature, steamy lemony stories and gets pregnant, because "Bella and Edward didn't use condoms too!"

But honestly? I'm completely conditioned myself to those little informations 

No mentioning of birth control, no condom wrappers flying around? I spend the next chapters waiting for morning sickness, weird cravings and first ultrasounds. If there is no baby, I feel cheated. 

Bella is on the pill? I'm waiting for the antibiotics... 

We all know that Edward and Bela only need to spend 1 night together to conceive at least twins...

I do that too--if there's no condom, I await the inevitable pregnancy. I like it when they wrap it up because it is a good message to readers because STDs are a serious risk to consider. I've never read a fic where they get one though...that would probably suck.    There's probably a crack fic out there...following Edward to the clinic to get his treatment because Tanya was a skanky wh0re. LOL. I probably shouldn't have put that out there, next thing you know I'll be reading it. Ruh roh.

I read one where Edward went to the clinic because of unprotected sex God what was the name of that fic?...He was 'clean' though obviously

Personally I don't need that sort of information, you don't get it in RL books (and I'm sure 13 year olds have access to adult books too) why do you have to have it in fics? If an protagonist in a RL book has sex unprotected you read on and find out if there is going to be any consequences from that act. End.Of. I think I had it right all along Do. Not. Read. ANs.  But I've seem to miss many an sequel, or out-take mention from doing that....

Kimmie, I have found your next fic! Thief of Hearts if you haven't read it yet do so asap...So, so good. FBIward, with a strong kinda kick arse cat burglar Bella ( with a secret). Really well written with a James Patterson-esque feel. My only criticism is that they did feel the sparks/fall (yada yada yada) for each other quickly but it doesn't get acted on for quite a while...Loved it!

Now onto Indecent Proposal...Cullen Legacy I'mma coming! 

P.S FFG was it you that I was having an ever ending chat about music a couple of threads ago? We were talking about Mumford and Sons and whether Babel was better than Sigh No More? Anyway I've decided that Lover of The Night is my Blank White Page..

It's weird, I always expect the pregnancy scare if no BC is mentioned, but although I think to myself "eww, you don't know where he/she's been!" I never actually expect an STD to pop up. STDs aren't romantic, but apparently, unplanned pregnancy is?

I finished my book. I have finished yellow glue new story and I have downloaded this fic. All ready to go if I don't get distracted here. Thief of hearts..... Here I come. Well after I check out Lauren 2nd place threesome fic.

I have heard all PattyRose fics are good.

Btw I know Rickell is on a much needed holiday. But where is Booked?

For those of us that are signed up to get author update alerts from TWCS is it working for you?  I do not get the alerts anymore,  i have  changed the email address and nothing. It is frustrating

I do think the question has to do with whether there will be an unplanned pregnancy more than anything else.  Some readers don't like baby fics? *hides face* I may have commented in reviews once or twice to that effect.  The author usually pm's me that all is okay.  But never specifics LOL!
