No, the story that sparked all of the controversy is still in the contest.  I'm guessing this one was pulled due to the controversy.  I'm not sure why else the authors would choose to pull it?

You'd be surprised by the amount of authors that need to confirm that! I've seen that a lot .... annother one I see a lot is the author telling them that No Bella wont get pregnant because he didn't use a comdom... she assures them shes on the pill. 

I know what you mean - it doesn't bother whether it mentions if Bella's on the pill or what contraception they use as if the fic is written well and isn't PNP then it shouldn't really matter that much.
But reading Patty's response that Edward pulls out is just so funny as most people know (probably from experience) this method is just useless. 
 

I'm glad to hear your out of hospital and doing good, do you know what you're having? Or is it too early still, forgive me ignorance on 'bump making'..well, I know how they are made, but not so much about the incubating stages

It's still a bit early, but we can find out if we want in about 4-6 weeks time.
But we've decided to keep it a surprise this time as we found out with Saxon and Topanga-Sway  , which was great as it meant that we were organized for when I had them but as we have loads of baby stuff it really doesn't matter as long bump comes out healthy and nothing happens.

P.S FFG was it you that I was having an ever ending chat about music a couple of threads ago? We were talking about Mumford and Sons and whether Babel was better than Sigh No More? Anyway I've decided that Lover of The Night is my Blank White Page..

OMG dem I was just talking to the boys when I saw this and they were shocked and really proud that your WBP is LoTN as they said they have plenty of peeps tell them that their "new" WBP is I Will Wait or Whispers in The Dark, but never LoTN.
But then again Marcus and Ted think I'm weird as I told them my "new" WBP is Holland Road. 

I think it's fair to also post this response by one of the hosts of the DTE contest to that last review that chippy posted.  I've been following and reading most of these contests for years, and this submission is one I read when it went public and really enjoyed.  It was so different and good that I text the link to a bunch of friends who then also read it and liked it.  I'm not on facebook or twitter and don't know any fic authors personally, except for lauren whom I only know from this site, so until I saw these posts, had no idea of the "drama" that was going on with this contest. 

All I can say is that from my own reaction to this fic, I can understand why the review count is high.  I rarely specify which fic or fics I really enjoyed in a contest, just the contest itself, but I really liked this particular submission enough to point it out as a must read, especially, because I was hoping the author would continue it to a full story after the contest was over.  Just my take on it...

The host posted this 6 days ago and the entry is still up on the contest for voting so....

Thanks for sharing this too! Like I said before, all you need is the right person to rec a story and suddenly it has lots of reviews--not unusual. There was that story a few months back (where Bella was Edward's housekeeper and had to kneel next to him at dinner) that had a crazy number of reviews for a good, but definitely not great, story. With reviews, you never can tell.

There is one story with a ridiculously high review count. It's highly suspect how fast that count shot up out of the blue one day when it was on a par with the rest for some time. That does not happen in contests unless there's a solid reason.

There were several reviews on that story (which may have been removed, but since I'm nosy I was reading all about it in one of my TwiFic groups.  LOL  Here's what they said:

The original word count was 15,749, but now it's below the 15K limit.  Weirdness.

I am so lost, I haven't read any of the contests entry (actually what am I saying?! I have NEVER read a contest, don't like O/Ss so...) What's the name of this controversial  fic? Did I miss that?

I'm put myself on alert for DSDW as soon as I finished Breakaway Bella (loved it), but I have WIPhobia, so I'm waiting for it to complete. I'm the same with TV shows. I have to TiVO at least 3 episodes to watch, and I often wait until the season is over before I start!

I have Breakaway on my TBR and DSDW on alert also! looking forward to reading her maybe after I finish with Patty.

You're right hun they certainly are from M&S - I know them personally. I even went to Marcus and Carey's wedding!! 
I met them back in 2008 at Glastonbury and since then we've kept in contact - we either phone or email about 2/3 times a month.
They are all really great guys and when me and my Daughter went to see them in July at the Olympic Park (they sent us VIP backstage passes) it was great as we had a barbie and a real good catch up, even though they constantly take the p*ss out of me for the way I talk and swear too much. 

Loopy why did I think you are an American? Honestly I could have sworn...I missed all their UK dates I was away working I am so bummed!

Demaris, Loopy doesn't this but I did the same thing when I realized she knew them. Screaming at my computer at home as if I was still a teenager. (Although back then it would have been more like OMFG you know Robert Smith and Siouxie Sioux!!!)
