  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Another fic that has me reading with every update.

"Everyone has something they'd like to confess…" Every Friday night, he calls. And every time he calls, I listen. A story about what happens when fantasy blends into reality – when the secrets we share are just as important as the secrets we keep.

I'm reading A Prescription for Love by tufano79 . I don' t think I'm even halfway from what is the first chapter but I'm doubting my desicion, Charlie is an ass and it's making me mad.

Should I read it or just forget about it?

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
next time I'm gonna do my research before I read :-\

Seriously hun!?!  :D If you heard how I talk and most peeps have as yesterday I stupidly posted an audio clip of myself you would definitely not mistake me for an American  ^-^ :P
I better not tell you that I've played the bottle with

then.  :P
That's just one of the tame things I've done at Glastonbury - the one time I went there and was single I turned into a proper groupie.  :o ^-^
Where is this audio clip I haven't seen/heard it...I thought it was just Rickell, Lauren (again, where is Lauren?) and I who were brits on here  :) Good to know.  Who goes to Glastonbury and plays spin the bottle (another reason for mistaking you for a yank! Woops I mean American :D)?! I was at V this year (Hylands unfortunately, not Weston but no worries, KOL and I have a date on 11 September! I can wait...)  Missed Glastonbury this year which was pants..who invented 'work' anyway?!  :P

It's the Good In The Stacks entry for the Dirty Talkin' Edward contest.

Six-foot-two, disheveled hair, and screen-printed t-shirt likely wouldn't be most people's idea of a sexy librarian fantasy. Their loss. Entry for the Dirty Talkin' Edward Twific Contest

I thought this was a GREAT story.

Oh woman you are my heroine. As if you weren't already with your brilliant sexcapades and loving family... Glastonbury Festival remains a bucket list item. I love experiencing music and art festivals. The Woodstock 25th Anniversary back in '94 was my first, but nowadays I try to get to Bonnaroo or Coachella if I can. Here in NYC we have some that are much smaller, but still fun. It's great that you not only got to meet the guys, but establish a lasting rapport. Awesome and good for you!
Thank you hun.  :-*
I blame alcohol and a high sex drive for a lot of it.  :P :D
I've always wanted to go to Coachella - but the hubby's scared that I'll end up arrested before the end of the first day from stalking the famous peeps.  :D

This is the first time since I started going to Glastonbury (been going when it's on for the last 15 years) that we didn't go.  :(

I think this is one of the few WIPs I flounced - I made it to chapter 3 and just gave up as everyone in it annoyed the hell out of me.  >:(

Yeah Coachella is on my list too; I'm planning on timing my west coast road trip to coincide with the festival so that I can take go at the same time..

I'll take the road less travelled, I really loved that Fic. I like words, and this writer knew how to string 'em together. Quotes/ excepts were used from real books throughout, but this was all foreplay. He?/she has an imagination and used it to perfection, evoking erotic and sensual imagery.
I don't know, other than what I've read here, about the controversy surrounding this Fic and after reading it I still don't get it.
Anyway, I really like it. It is hot!!!!!

Lol, I know how that feels - but my vice is ebooks, I'm literally obsessed with them.
I've bought so many, I probably won't even read a 1/4 of them before I die.  :D

I absolutely agree.   Like I said, it was the only entry that had me recommending and texting about it to my friends who don't normally read contest submissions.  I really hope the author decides to expand it after the contest is over.

Kimmie, I have found your next fic! Thief of Hearts if you haven't read it yet do so asap...So, so good. FBIward, with a strong kinda kick arse cat burglar Bella ( with a secret). Really well written with a James Patterson-esque feel. My only criticism is that they did feel the sparks/fall (yada yada yada) for each other quickly but it doesn't get acted on for quite a while...Loved it!
That good huh?  My mind is still in 1943 Russia.    I am forever in your debt for recommending The Bronze Horseman to me!

I do think the question has to do with whether there will be an unplanned pregnancy more than anything else.  Some readers don't like baby fics? *hides face* I may have commented in reviews once or twice to that effect.  The author usually pm's me that all is okay.  But never specifics LOL!  ;)
Ella, are you saying you don't like baby fics either?   I thought I was the only one.    I really really hate it when they go the route of the unplanned pregnancy...    They don't really even know each other yet, but then they walk off into the sunset with their baby carriage!     I think the whole pregnancy and newborn baby thing are just too "real life" for me and I read to escape.  LOL   Those days were REALLY tough and I don't care to relive them, even via fiction.  ;-)

You are welcome regarding TBH

Oh Lord Kimmie, I wish someone had warned me that this Bella was going to be British and a cockney at that (I've lived in London for  years and I can't do a good cockney anything!!)...I have no words; she speaks 'British English' (and I'm being nice) but think in Americanisms (FYI: We call 'sweats pants' tracksuits bottoms.); most of it is so wrong it's distracting me from the story, which I'm sure is up to Patty's amazing standard, and she apologised in her opening AN for any mistakes as she's not British, but I can't quite get past Bella to enjoy the story.... :( I want to weep, I was so looking forward to this..
