This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Have you called Amazon? Mine wasn't charging and they sent me a refurb kindle even though I didn't have any sort of warranty. This was a year or so ago, not sure if they still do that. Can't hurt to ask. If you do a search for "Amazon customer service chat" you can find the link for chatting with a CSR and that might be easier to do. I've got the Paperwhite now and I flove it! I will seriously cry if it quits working on me! I can't be without it even for a day. ;-)

Having recently lost a kindle to screen failure, I can totally sympathize

They just sent me a refurbished one as well for a discounted price. If I hadn't wanted Text to Talk, it would have been pretty cheap, but they only had a Kindle Touch with it. I really wanted a graphite again

But you do have to mail in the old one. They paid for it, but you have to package it all up an everything...

That's horrible! I don't want to even imagine my Sony e-book-reader dying! It's with me all the time, even when I'm not reading. It would have to be replaced immediately! My Sony was the best purchase in my life.

And I also would try calling Amazon at first. Can't hurt!

Well, I spent 15 minutes with the Amazon kindle helpline. He asked me to restart it several times, which did nothing ( as I could have told him) and then he realized that my kindle already was a replacement, because my original kindle did the same thing nearly exactly a year ago. So, no warranty left, no replacement... $:-\$

But the ordinary kindle e-ink reader is just on sale for 49€ (64,53$), so it's not that bad.

Thanks to calibre I have everything on my netbook already

am currently reading, surprise, another cougarella....its ok so far but am still conflicted with the age gap (at least 20yrs). Bella is 46 here, Edward I don't know yet but is in law school, best friends since childhood with her son, Jasper. AND, Bella and Esme are divorced bec their husbands left them.. First time i ever came across a story where Charlie hooked up with Carlisle

Thankfully, this was only mentioned almost in passing...not much details except she was left by her husband for another man...i like this writer and the story is only 300+ pages, will surely finish tonight

I read this, but I can't remember much about it. I think I liked it, but tended to skim the last pages (my permanent problem). I might have to re-read it some day.

That's the one with Shyward and Bella is supposed to be his assistant, right?

I liked it. It is extremely sweet, giving you cavities and Edward is certainly no Alphamale... but it's cute

I don't like Cougarella fics that much. Wouldn't want to be with someone younger myself...

Hehe, my one-tracked mind only went as far as the physical side of the relationship is concerned!

In RL and a serious relationship I like my men older. My husband is 11 years my senior, but is well-preserved (?sounds weird) and his mind is sometimes such of an 20 year old.

Yep that one! I don't know it's the rhythm of the story maybe? I'm talking about the timeline ; It's fine that he is shy because, of course ,a Billionaire could be shy! But I don't know maybe it's a little bit too fast in making things happen and not so articulate in the description of the emotions . (This is the best I could do! I really don't know how to explain this in english!
