This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Excuse my lack of vocabulary, what part is the pad? The bottom part?

I would describe the pad as the part where your finger print is, or the part that normally touches the keys on the keyboard.

Hey Ladies
Does anyone know why my Calibre has suddenly stopped uploading by FFDownloader. I have to flag and then add it via the Addbooks plugin
This is the error message I get, regardless of which story I try and upload. Ive updated my Calibre and deleted and reinstalled the FF Plugin but nothing!... Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated otherwise I'm going to start and

just wanted to ask, how are you? All teeth OK? Did the valium help? Seen any flying unicorns/shapeshifter etc?

Thank you for asking! I'm doing alright...sat through 2 hours worth of drilling and filling so I'm still sensitive...which sucks because I had fillings on both sides, therefore I haven't really been able to eat much of anything.

But. The valium? Did fantastic for making me relaxed, and that paired with the nitrice and mucho Novocaine?

I really wanted to tell my denitst

when she asked how I was feeling. But considering I was so very numb I had to settle for

and a mumbled 'I feel goooooood

Did not see anything that wasn't in the actual room but the nitrice gave a very nice floating/spacey feel.

You know me, I like fluff. But I got bored with Stay. It wasn't what I would call fluff, but, yeah. Just wasn't that good to me when I was reading it. And? I may have read it after Help Wanted and The Man Who Can't Be Moved. So it didn't compare.....

I think we all thought you were talking about the Bronze Horseman, but I thought I should put the link to Stay anyway.... Stay didn't sound like something you would find interesting.

yea....it def'y could not hold my interest lol. And honestly, I'm positive I read for as long as I did because I wanted that damn lemon (early fic reading days when lemons were a must for a fic lol). As a wip I probably didn't get as bored with it as I would now. If I tried to read it now, I'd probably flounce before the end of chapter 1. A canon fic has to be REALLY good to hold my interest

Although I'd add Rochelle Allison to that list. I'm reading Starry Eyed Inside and just loving it, as I have with everything else she has written.

Oooh, I loved Starry Eyed Inside! I love a good high school fic and this one was so well done. I've not read any of her other fics, yet

Thanks for the welcome and hope to talk fics with you all since it seems like some of you like the same authors. There are other authors like hunterhunting, AngstGoddess003, WhatsMyNomDePlume, counselor, ItzMegan73, and the previously mentioned Nolebucgirl and Rochelle Allison who all have a few fics that I have liked from each of them.

Nolebucgirl can always get a laugh or smile out of me and I usually like the banter and dialogue she writes between her characters. The 3 stories I like from Rochelle Allison are probably her most popular ones: Volition, Air and Starry Eyed Inside. I like the feeling of being immersed in the story when I'm reading Rochelle Allison's fics and those are the 3 that made lasting impressions on me. I felt like I was in high school again crushing on the wrong guy then falling a little in love with another guy yet still wondering about the bad boy while reading Starry Eyed Inside; with Air, I felt like I was 19 year old Bella falling in like, lust and then love with a cute older guy named Edward and gossiping about him with my friends; and I felt like I was in dangerous and conflicted N. Ireland and then on my way to America while reading Volition. I clearly remember impatiently waiting for Volition and a few other fics being written at the same time like The Blessing and the Curse, Shadowboxer, and Summer of Salt to update so I could get my fill of these fics for the day/week/month they updated.

And even after seeing that elevator clip, he does nothing for me.

I liked his actions towards her, but the guy himself. Eh. He has his moments when he can look good but usually eh. I would be impressed if that's how he really acted in real life towards a woman he lusted/loved, but he seems too... timid? and awkward. Maybe he just hasn't met a woman worth those emotions yet. Who knows. However, like someone already said, more for you all.

Yes, that's it. The e-ink makes reading easy for my eyes, no headaches.

Does someone have a kindle paperwhite? They say the lighting is different... Perhaps I put it on my wishlist for christmas? Hubby thinks technology is the most romantic gift (I think I'll get a new oven for my birthday this year )

I just got the paperwhite and I love it for reading in the dark and the shade when I'm outside. It's nice because it's lighter than my iPad, so when it falls on my face when I fall asleep in bed reading, it doesn't leave bruises or marks on my nose, cheekbone or chin.

Thank you helping to start my day off with a laugh. It's been a shitty few weeks and I've been mostly "borrowing" books to read to feed my recent reality escapist mentality and haven't read any fics recently.

I'll have to try this, morning sickness/constant nausea make me want to avoid food completely, but maybe if I bite my thumb before I eat it will be better.

I know it is most likely unrelated, but it made me think of Shakespeare and "I bite my thumb at you"

It was a great story. (We're talking about Confessions After Dark). It ended well but i could have had more in the middle. Not that the story was lacking in any way but because I reallyliked this dirty talking boy!

There are two lessons that I have tried to teach you all:

2. Suppress the gag reflex by biting the pad of your left thumb - hard - and then squeeze your thumb inside your fist.

This explains the squeezing part. The thumb biting was a little tip I learnt a while ago. The gag reflex doesn't disappear permanently, but it goes away long enough to...do what you need to do.

I tried this the first time you suggested it Astro, and it does work!!!

I'm so proud of myself!

And my husband is quite happy too.
