This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

You know, Kimkimkim, we could probably do a secret group on FB with the link posted here as a backup

I wouldn't want an open group, as then we might get the crazy lad-*coughb1tchescough* they seem to pick up over there. One of the reasons I like it here more is because the ladies are so much nicer and, well,grown up. We can have a disagreement without it getting nasty. I.e. which is better - clean cut Rob or bearded wonder?

Something to think about.

Sounds like a good idea to me, I'm in.

I'm a 'member' of a TON of facebook groups for fic....but I don't go there often and I rarely post anything.

Except for the non-canon group...they are low drama and mostly for pimping fics, so I lurk a bit there.

I'm not on Twitter but a friend of mind says that's notorious for fanfic drama....as is facebook, it seems. Which I don't really understand...what are they fighting/bullying about? Plot lines? Opinions on fav fics?

I try to stay away from that silly drama. I'm 33 years old, I don't want to be 'around' people who act like they are still in high school.

But...not gonna lie, it can be, at times, entertaining. In small doses. Just a little. But I never 'see' it happen because I'm never there.

The one I saw was some author not wanting her story posted. Even though it's been posted everywhere. Then her friends got into it. I think she has caused other sh*t storms in other groups as well. Jklly banned them all. I missed most of it.

Most of the time, the ladies there are really great and helpful at finding stuff. And I like the rec pages. I'm slowly participating on FB. I don't like a few of the ladies over there, though, so I avoid them. But others are really great. And I avoid the authors. Lissa Bryan is actually over there a lot, off and on. She seems very nice. But then I like her stories.

Okay, I can look into setting one up. I may need to add a few others to monitor it as well. I'm not sure how that works. But since we are all in different time zones, it would be good to have a couple people to approve members, if say, I were asleep and PTS went down.....

I just finished Creed. Knight is one of my very favorites, so I need to catch up on the Unfinished Heroes series. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Rock Chick books. I've read the other books in the Dream Man series, but I haven't made it to Motorcycle Man yet. Her books are like crack (or so I assume, since I've never tried crack), and I just can't stop myself once I start. I have too much to do this week to do this to myself, but her books have been calling my name all summer, and I just...let...myself...take...a...little...peek. And I was a goner!

Now the Unfinished Heroes ones aren't my favorites at all. I didn't care for Knight, and never finished Creed. I didn't dislike it, I just got bored and never went back. I've read everything else contemp she's written, but none of her PNR or fantasy stories. I've read all the Rock Chicks, Dream Man, Colorado Mountain, and the Burg books though, and like I said, I've read Tabby and Shy's story, but still need to get to Hop and Lainey.

You can always make a new facebook account with a fake name, you just need a new email address and some fake biographical information. (Although I think facebook frowns on this, they also like to boast their numbers)

I do the same thing. I have my RL one that has friends and family and then my Andie Moe account for the fandom and to play games. I just set it up a few days ago.

I don't normally post on my "real" account. But I have a bunch of nieces and nephews who use Facebook, so that is how I keep track of what they are doing. Otherwise I would know nothing, I am so out of the loop.

Maybe, I should try again if you all think they are good.

Her editing does leave a bit to be desired, and that turns some people off of her, but I love her heroes, and her stories just suck me in, endless clothing descriptions and all. They can get repetitive though, if you read too many in a row.

Don't we have a group on goodreads already? I thought I signed up with goodreads because of it, even though it's not active. If I'm remembering correctly, it could be our back up if the site goes down.

Errr? Has PTS ever been down for more than a couple of hours? It's just, well, even if it went down for a day...is the general consensus that one couldn't survive for that length of time..without discussing FFs? I'm just asking because I've been away most of today and I might have missed something...
