Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

That's almost heresy demaris.   Are you still on Loyalty or have you progressed to Witness and Pepper one of Roarke's old girlfriends?   Never mind - Pepper Franklin is from Imitation - after 45 plus books, the characters start to blend in as to who was in what book.  Thank god for the InDeath wiki.   Pepper is very likable by the way.
Whatever!  :D I am a disciple of only one cult leader and her name is Yellowglue  :D  :D  BTW I'm on Betrayal, I told ya I read fast...

OK buuuuut, it depends now how it used....I think writers are now using it to 'double emphasis' the lack of caring, does that make sense? "As if I could care less about that arsehole" I already care as little as is allowed and so.......it's a style thing, I think, maybe?......Yeah. No. I'm trying to find allowances but years of the English as a study subject, plus I can hear my own common sense is  saying 'bollocks!" You're right Loopy Girl  :D  :D
Lol, I even asked my sister in-law as she's an English teacher and I was even starting to doubt myself after reading it sooooo many times. But she said that if you could care less, you would - makes sense to me. :D :D

So, YellowGlue has had a book (novella) published, Light and Wine, written in collaboration with another author (not TeamBella) under the penname Sparrow AuSoleil, it sounds right up my street...I'm off to download and read ( In Death? What's In Death?).

Light and Wine by Sparrow AuSoleil

What’s set Marc apart forever is also what’s brought him and Lacie together.

He's spent his entire life searching for and studying love, but Heaven on Earth with hazel eyes and a teenage heart has taught him more than any book, mission, or seminary ever could.  While she struggles with accepting what she's always had, he guards her path and guides her soul toward the most enduring kind of love.

Faith isn't always believing in something you can't see.  Sometimes faith is embracing what's been right before your eyes all along.

Between stolen candy and soft surrender, centuries-old sacraments and a brand new day, this is a story about two people accepting God’s greatest gift, even if no one else will.
I bought this, this morning as it's sounds like a really good read.
Gonna read it tonight as I've got the house to myself after everyone's abandoned me. :D

Just came from seeing The Rover, Rob did make me believe he was the dim-witted Rey, but I can't really say I thought the movie was good.  Performances were good, but there was very little story or explanation.  We were pretty shell-shocked when it was over.

Anyone else see it?  I'd love to know what you thought.

As usual, Rob's movie isn't showing in this area.    I had to buy Bel Ami and Cosmopolis on DVD.  I'm going to have to wait for the Rover to come out on DVD also - and probably Maps to the Stars, etc,  Up through Thursday, it had made $879, 000.  It should hit $1 million over this weekend.  Its only out in 608 theaters.

Twilight fanfic

Can you guys please help me as I'm new to this site & am looking for some Twilight fan-fiction's to read.  I'm mainly interested in the cannon couple ones where possible, I quite enjoy the odd mafiaward or crime theme but in all honesty I love most areas of fanfic so all recommendations will be greatly appreciated & where possible a small synopsis would be amazing if no trouble at all.

Thank you so much in advance for any help at all

Up until Thursday, it was playing in several theaters in the area, unfortunately I had a crazy week and wasn't able to go until today when it was only in Manhattan or 30 miles away on Long Island.  I chose LI so I could drive.  I'm glad I went, because if I can, I try to see movies in the theater, but the lower budget, independent movies disappear fast.  I don't think this is a movie I would watch again, so I don't think I would want to buy it on DVD.  Netflix, cable, redbox (rental) maybe.  I also went because, I like him and want to show that there are people who think his is work worth going out to see.  I am looking forward to Life because he is a main character.  I will probably go to Map to the Stars too, but he has a smaller role that I understand isn't important to the story and I'm not sure how interested I am in the movie itself.   I'll make that call when it is released.

Still disappointed he had to step out of Mission Blacklist, but he has several things in post and pre production to look forward to.  I think he is more talented than he is given credit for and has suffered from poor editing (Remember Me), crappy screenplays (Twilight, Remember Me) and weak co-stars.

Here's a pretty good list of mafiaward fics: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

As for general recommendations, if you'll skim this thread, you'll find lots of possibilities to get you started.  The links show up in blue so just look for blue, cuz we tend to talk a lot.

You could also take a look at the Index, since it is a treasure trove of pulled fics.  The link is in my signature.

He still has to film Childhood of a Leader, Idol's Eye, Lost City of Z, Hold On To Me, and Hate Mail.  I think we can also forget Unbound Captive which he was supposed to do with Hugh Jackman several years ago.  He's too old for the part although the director/writer is willing to redo the script because she still wants him if he still wants to do it.  Problem now is Hugh's schedule, Rob's schedule, financing and the director's schedule (she is currently playing Victoria in Revenge - I'm having a senior moment or I'd tell you her name).  If one more person says to me that they don't understand why he didn't get hired to play Christian in 50 Shades of Gray I may scream.  Its not the kind of role he's looking for and he certainly didn't/doesn't have the director on his radar to work for and he is staying away from franchises which this has the potential to be - unless its an abject failure.  His friend (and director) Harmony (and I can't remember his last name at the moment) is supposedly working on a script for him specifically.  I wish some people (not you) would make an effort to read his interviews and get a clue.  and if I sound slightly disgruntled - I only had to answer another nitwit's question on the InDeath.net board this afternoon on whether Nora (Roberts) would write an InDeath novel about Eve having a pregnancy scare.  Idiot.  Nora has already stated several times that there would be no pregnancies real or otherwise for Eve now or ever.  When it came time for that storyline it would mean the end of the line for the series.  The question is on par with Is Eve's father really dead?  Yes he is most decidedly dead, wormfood, no longer on this planet and don't try to argue that he is still around - the queen said he's dead so he's dead.   Going along with that - Rob isn't doing certain roles for a reason - get over it (again - not pertaining to you).  Sorry - I don't suffer fool gladly some days (most days?).  Maybe I need to go take a nap?

I am very, very glad he is not connected to 50 - I am so sick of all the references and jokes about it that I am almost sorry to admit I read it as a Fic.  I have no intention of seeing the movie and didn't read or buy the books.  I believe Rob has much better things on his horizon.

I haven't read either the fanfic or the published novel. I have heard that for the published version that all the author did was change the names. There was very little changed in story. So, my question is why should I buy the published version when I have the fanfic that I could read for free?  I also heard that the author was dissing her fanfic followers when the first book was first published. I have also heard that is just pure smut, so why would Rob want to associate himself with that? Especially when you consider that the main male character was originally a spin from his Edward Cullen days? IMO it would be a step backwards when he is trying to separate himself from the Twilight Saga.  Ok, I don't think separate is the right word there, but I can't think of the right one. But I am sure you all get what I am trying to say. LOL

I think the word you're looking for is distance.  He's trying to distance himself from the Twilight franchise.

I loved MoTU. Granted, it was one of my first fanfics and I was more into the psychology of Edward -if you like Fridays at noon you will like MoTU. To me F@N was a copy of MoTU. But definitely read the fanfic version. It's better because it's Edward.  ;)

And even though she pulled to publish?  She finished it as a fanfic. I never heard anything bad about her until the twifans turned on her for being one of those pulled to publish authors.  So I always wonder if there are two sides to that story.

I sure think more of her than some of these other authors who make you buy if you want to read the ending.  And the story was edited when it got picked up by whatever major publisher printed it. No offense to TWCS who I think published the first version, but I don't think they have the editing staff.

Okay, that said, and as much as I would have loved Rob as (ugh) Christian, I totally get why he didn't want the role.  It's likely to lose the best part of the story in all the sex.

Yeah, I have very little faith in screenwriters.  :P

I could never understand how SM could have approved of them. I mean, SM was not the best writer, but she sure made you love (or hate) her characters. It was just hard to see the writing get worse to the point I didn't like a lot of the characters. Not like in the books.

I think they used the same writer for all of the movies.  Seems like they would've moved up the food chain after the first movie did so well.
