This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Left you hanging. The author swore she was going to finish it on her Facebook page and then talked about changing it....then stopped talking all together. Don't read it, you will fall in love with Thighward and be left without knowing how or if things will work out for them.

unfortunate but so true. this is why I don't read WIP's. did the story at least finish at a good spot, or does it leave you hanging?

I check the authors track record, if most of their stories are complete I will read the WIP and hope for the best.

I do that too. There are a few authors who I will read their WIP, but some of those have burned me too. I really miss when I had multiple update alerts in my inbox every day, lately I can go days without even getting one.

My friend wants to read her very first fanfiction. (well, in actual FF form... she's read 50SoG and Gabriel's Inferno). What do you guys recommend as a guaranteed winner? I'm thinking one of these:

Trippin', Slippin', Stumbletumblin' - Yellowglue
Wide Awake - AngstGoddess003
Deviant by Planetblue
Fridays at Noon by troublefollows
Words With Friends (my only issue with this one is it gets kinda complicated if you want to also read WWStrangers at the same time)

My daughter reads a lot of HP fanfic, I loved the books and movies, but never got into the fanfic.

She is actually the one who got me into Twilight fanfic.

Just wait until you get seduced by grown up HP. I am a lover of non cannon and there are so, so many characters to choose from in HP, never get bored.

Only if you love Vampward.

The first is Drotuno's Masen Manor. The second is Jenrar's A Light in the Darkness. I love Vampward, so they are great stories to me.

If you liked Drotuno's Broken Angel series you'll like Masen Manor. Though it looks to be a single story. Not sure what she can do to make it into a series.

I never associate Yellowglue with anything fluffy, might just be me though. Let us know how your friend gets on with Pennyward. Just thinking about him makes me want to re-read the FaN again.

I just don't have that much faith. If a story isn't marked Complete in the summary I click onto the last chapter, no The End? I sent it to Follow and forget about it...Once every few months I go through my alerts and see if anything has completed, yes? Calibre. No? Next!

I am sure you are correct personally I find Yellowglues style rather challenging because it always demands deeper thought. I admit when she liked my interpretation of her words I felt all proud and clever like.

Obviously, I am still an innocent when it comes to WIP.

It's pissing because that damn fic can't have more than about 4-5 chapters left to it!! Well, that and because it was one of only a handful of fics that caught me out before my total WIP ban.

I haven't ever gone to the Twilighted forums. You have to sign in separately. Just never seemed worth it. But then, I normally have to download to read from there.

The black white scheme just doesn't work on my phone.

Okay - makes sense Charreader now that I've had a chance to think about it. Duh...... Oh yes -for those of you into the InDeath series - Not you demaris - it might scar you for life - Nora/J.D. Robb has released the first chapter of Festive In Death to tempt everybody and drive them crazy until September 9th when the book come out. If you want to read the chapter, go to InDeath.net and look for the Festive In Death thread which will probably be on the main page since someone just posted the link for everybody to read. Or go to Nora's facebook page since I'm assuming the person who posted the link got it from Nora's new newsletter.
