Am currently on chapter 4 of Colleen Hoover's Maybe Somebody. absolutely loving it! :) She is one of my fave authors. nothing was grabbing my attention so i chose to read her book. I tend to postpone reading some books of my favorite authors, saving it for days like these when nothing on my library appeals to me. Her stories are a bit angsty hence i don't immediately start reading her work when it comes out. But the way she writes really gets to me, makes me feel... She's brilliant IMO!  :)

Note: she has a good mix of humor and angst for me. Reading alone at a restaurant after finishing my solo meal waiting for traffic to subside, am trying to supress my laugh bec the portion am reading is sooo funny.

I love Colleen Hoover, can't tell you why, it's another of those perplexing conundrums, but Slammed is an almost perfect YA story. A lot of YA authors could learn more than a thing or two from her. I haven't read Maybe Someday, keep meaning to, it's there on my iPad, waiting, but....yeah, see below... :(

I really wish authors wouldn't class fics as Angst when it's just drama.  >:( >:(
Just finished reading You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login by chynnadoll36. It was pretty good, but it could of done with being shorter.
There was just drama for the sake of drama and the author kept saying chapters were going to be real angsty but that wasn't the case.  :'(

For some reason I read the author as chlamydia! WTF!  :o I'm losing my mind.....

For those of you that read Art After 5...   is Counterpoint worth reading?  I'm guessing is EPOV but same basic story?

I read it and didn't feel like it was a complete waste of time. It's mostly the ramblings of Edward, the love struck teen. There were a couple scenes from Art After 5 that I was hoping would have been mentioned, like when Bella was being super abrasive about something and it led to Edward locking himself in the bathroom so he could cry..it also highlights what a douche Edward can be while trying to get over Bella. That's probably the mirrored chapters of him acting out over Bella going all New Moon on him.  Then there's the HEA sequel she wrote which includes

I just read her story, Hopeless and loved it! I actually read a couple reviews on goodreads where they claimed one of the characters was a creepy stalker and put it on my list of books to avoid, but somehow I forgot about that and ended up reading it anyway. Glad I did! It was an easy read and it turned out, she released another book in a different POV where that character knew how creepy he was being. I liked the whole series. Goodreads is helping me find all sorts of new things to read. I just wish they had a better way to sort ratings and reviews. FF.net has spoiled me, now that they have the sort by review count option.

Nope, very little.  We created it when PTS was down for something like a whole weekend or maybe more.  We all freaked out a little bit. Just a little.  So far, we haven't really needed it.  ;D

How obsessed can people be when a site has to create a facebook page for when the regular site is down - ie, Perusing the Shelves and InDeath.net?   I'm rarely on facebook either except for when InDeath is down - almost never- and when one of my fellow moderators decides to be obnoxious and give me poke to get me onto facebook (which I might do a week after Donna has poked me).  demaris - did you remember to read Remember When?   You only need to pay attention to the Eve/Roarke half.   A number of people don't even pay attention to the first half of the book since it doesn't have Eve/Roarke/accompanying characters.  I snorted over chynnadoll/chlamydia - I did something similar the other day only it wasn't that one - If I remember what I was reading at the time and what I misread the name as  I'll post it.  It isn't clicking right this minute - I just know I blinked and reread it.   You've all reminded me - I really need to spend more time on Goodreads.

Yeah, I've got a bone to pick with you Ms RuthHazelton,  >:D Did I not ask if there were any short stories I needed to read that got mentioned in the series? You didn't mention anything about Big Jack so nope I hadn't read it before I needed to in..?....God! What bloody one was it?! I am drowning in deaths (pun intended!)  :D :D Still, I've downloaded it now so I'll get to at some point. I'm loving these books though, now; they really, really do get better as you work your way down the 30-odd novels. The characters are more 3 dimensional,

Is Big Jack the first half (or second half) of Remember When?   I never read Big Jack as Big Jack.   It was all part of Remember When until the publishers figured they'd make more money off the poor hapless readers.   Its not listed as a separate book in the list on InDeath.  The shorts are:  Midnight In Death, Interlude in Death (which you should read before you get to New York to Dallas - I think that's the book - anyway - read Interlude), Haunted In Death, Eternity in Death, Ritual In Death, Missing In Death, Possession In Death, Chaos in Death, and Taken in Death.   If you want their reading placement (or more accurately their publishing order) in between the regular books, go to InDeath, net and at the top of the index page click on our Wiki and at the bottom of the first page is the listing of books in the publishing/reading order.  You'll see Big Jack is not listed since its part of Remember When..  Sorry.....

                                                       Ruth

I don't know how to do this short of giving you a spoiler which I am not going to do.  However - a character in Interlude hooks up with a recurring character in I think New York To Dallas - or a book close to that.  Careers will need to be seriously considered if they stay together.  They don't even reside in the same section of the universe and that's all I'm saying.  As for Peabody, its usually Mavis everybody seems to want to bitch slap.  You're welcome on the rec.   You have to love the conversations and character growths.

Yes, the cliffhangers are evil! I love those though. Gives me the drive to read the next book. I read Obsession actually at first, because I marked it incidentally as first book in the series. I liked it, but it really should be read after the first book.
The next book as the last as far as I know.

Cassandra Clare finished The Mortal Instruments series. I grabbed the book (City of Heavenly Fire), but I have yet to read it.
Yep, you're right about Obsession...  definitely should be read after you've been introduced to the characters.   The cliffhangers are rough! I would not have started the series if I'd realized ahead of time how cliffy they were but I'm glad I did.  It's nice to have something to look forward to.

How many books did the TMI series finish with?  I read the first 3 and really enjoyed them but I was incredibly disappointed with the fourth book.  (
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I think it would have been better off as a trilogy and am guessing that's how it was originally meant to be.   Did you guys watch the movie?  It was awful.

I don't know this Lux series you mentioned....would you recommend it to me? Knowing my.....tastes?  But if it's not dine then, forget it I'll wait; I've enough going on with the never ending saga that's InDeath.
Demaris, I don't think you'd love the Lux series...    Different story and all, but I consider it to be on the level with Twilight.    I loved Twilight (even with its issues) and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Lux series (except for the novella about the brother).   I think you would think it was just ok.   It's definitely no Colleen Hoover YA!

Speaking of her...

I really liked Maybe Someday!  She is an amazing writer and I'd read anything written by her without even needing to know anything about the book.   As much as I liked MS I didn't think it was quite as good as Hopeless and Slammed.

Her book Ugly Love is coming out in August! Can't wait!
