LOL! I think that is what I was saying to do. I'm so confused now. Are you emailing from Calibre? Or just from web apps like ficsave? If you don't have access to a computer running Calibre, even if it is only from a thumb drive, they whole conversation probably was worthless for you. I think the side conversations got confusing
If it is still on the Web i use ficsave or FFDL web verison. If it is pulled and in PDF i send thru my email to my kindle email address with CONVERT in the subject.
see, you're confusing again...
LOL! I was answering two different questions and it got a little confusing I think.... I love Calibre, but if you don't have access to a computer, it is worthless. Though if you have access to someone else's computer and you don't want to download the program on it, you can use the portable version. You still have to set it all up on your thumbdrive. But once it is set up, it is pretty easy to use. But you still need access to a computer. LOL!
This made me think of Astro today...You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login anyone heard from her recently?
Umm ok yeah, You lost me at " I send stuff to iBooks which syncs with Calibre via wifi using iTunes perfectly. '\"
You have to send it to the Kindle apps email address via Amazon. I've done it with my Android and my iPhone. It can be slow though.
I have tried that but I keep getting an error. Does it have to be done thru wifi only??
THIS is the one thing I hate about Calibre. I wish there was a way to set it up to run on the external Cloud hard drive I got, then I could leave that running all the time, and wouldn't have to dig out my laptop in the middle of the night to dl a book. I mean, they are all in Drobox or Drive, but Calibre makes it SO much easier to actually FIND anything! I thought about putting my Calibre and libraries on my son's computer, it's always running, but then he'd have access to my books, and yeah, that's SOOO not happening.
Can't read Buzzfeed..... When I first set up Calibre (remember that weekend Ella? There was a bunch of us here all doing it together ) I set it up to send my fics to my Amzon kindle address, it never ever worked I got an error message and that was it. I think it may work if you're actually using a Kindle device but maybe, not a Kindle app? Maybe? For a time I'd save everything into Calibre as a PDF and email them across to Kindle app that way...but now I 'connect/share' via iTunes, send to 'device' and then iTunes (on my MacBook Pro) syncs it via wifi to my iPad. Easy God Matron! I'm with you there! The amount of time I've had to fire up my laptop to get a book #2 as I'd finished book #1 at 12am So I've just finished Always You by Missy Johnson. Now, I'm aware that Missy Johnson is a Twific author but for the life of me I can't remember which on she is! Help? You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Some girl on FB did it. Something about using Amazon's Cloud Server. It sounded too complicated to me. But then, I have a computer......And her husband who does IT set it up for her. But I did check it out. I guess if you know a bit about all that stuff or know someone who knows a bit more about servers than I do, you could do it. She did it for free, using Amazon's free cloud space. But my Calibre library is bigger than 5 GBs, which is what Amazon gives in addition to any you get free by buying stuff (music/books/videos)
The Kindle thing only works if you go into Amazon and approve the email from address. It won't go through otherwise. And? I would send using gmail rather than the Calibre server because it was easier to approve the gmail address at Amazon. And though I have 1500 stories on my Kindle? It always seems I'm missing that one story that I want to read. So I know what you mean. The bad thing? I will turn on my computer, check my email while I'm at it, see something interesting. Open Calibre, update that interesting thing, and shut down the computer, totally forgetting why I turned it on in the first place.... Until after it's shut down and I pick up the Kindle again.....
I did that. It's the same email address that I'd send PDF to my kindle app....so it works, it just doesn't via Calibre.... I think Missy Johnson might be 107 YOV?
Apparently Midnight Sun is actually being made into a movie and it looks like the book might actually be finished!!!You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginIf this is true I get the feeling that Stephenie Meyer has realised she can't really write very well or she's really stuck for new ideas and she knows she's onto a winner here. I see on GR that she's expanding The Host by writing another two books. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.
Really? I just read the summary it does not strike me at all... Missionaries in the Congo? And on Goodread there are Cliff notes! That smacks so 'study' rather than 'entertainment'
Seriously? I don't know if I buy this one. I think most of the main cast really wants to put Twilight behind them, I can't see them coming back for more at this point. Plus, other than the few bits with Edward running off to Alaska, and his discussions with his family, what's there to be seen that we didn't already see in Twilight? And I've been waiting for more from The Host series since I read the first book, I actually liked that one. Meyer seems to have given up on writing altogether, she seems all Hollywood now.
