Thread #6 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

If Stephanie Meyer actually finishes Midnight Sun I will eat my hat.   She keeps saying she's going to or maybe will or any other variation ever since people started clammering for it when they found out it existed.  I doubt it will ever end up a movie - who would do the movie of the original cast?  Definitely not Rob - he's happy the series is behind him - unless SM does a sequel involving Jacob and Renesmee which has been floated - and Rob said at one point that he might be involved.   However, at the rate any of the rumors are going, everyone in the cast will be TOO OLD to even play Cullens or anybody else.  Lightening striking gold with a new cast is unlikely - the powers that be managed it with Star Trek - and there was lukewarm success with Star Wars but..........

Apparently Midnight Sun is actually being made into a movie and it looks like the book might actually be finished!!!

If this is true I get the feeling that Stephenie Meyer has realised she can't really write very well or she's really stuck for new ideas and she knows she's onto a winner here.  ::) ::)
I see on GR that she's expanding The Host by writing another two books.  ???

Yeah... I'll believe it when I see it.. I'm pretty sure the Midnight Sun movie rumor is a hoax, I can't remember where I read that before, but it was proven false.

I found this article from last year. Probability of more Host books is more likely than New Twilight anything IMO.

I have no idea how these stories got onto my TBR but boy am I glad it did. I'm sure its clear by now that I'm not a huge fan of YA novels and their authors and the only ones I really like or have time for are by Colleen Hoover and Maggie Stiefvater but this author (Gayle Forman) might be joining that very small group. I really enjoyed these two stories and Will Cooper has some competition in Adam Wilde. When I came to the end of the second novel I lay on my bed and kicked my legs in the air like a 5 year old having a tantrum. ( made the 'not really crying but still annoying as hell' noise too)  Yet another film adaptation I will not be watching as they are bound to f*ck it up.  ;D

This is so you click on the link and do their bloody survey or download a virus  :D  I can't for the life of me imagine RP reprising that role for all the tea in China....You can practically see him gritting his teeth in order fulfil his contract and complete Breaking Dawn....Plus we have a ton of Midnight Sun-like Twific which are much better written, why would we need her's?

Now The Host? That might be true I can see her writing a couple more of those; I actually preferred that book to Twilight, in terms of writing.

No, I think her name is Amber. Being as that's who I follow on FB.

I don't know Missy Johnson. Which doesn't mean she isn't a fanfic writer. ;)

Yeah, so the other discussion makes no sense for you.  `

Though you should check my Google Drive Library - with the epubs, you can download them then open in iBooks.  I've tried it and it works pretty well.  I know Booked does it that way as well.  Just as a back up if you can't get the other ways to work.   ;D

LOL, my head ached trying to understand the various tech process described  :P :D

Limomx, first off, am a lazy bum. Second, i boycott ffnet. Third, with easy-to-use flagfic gone, i no longer attempted to download any fanfic from any site.

If what you are downloading are completed twifics, i swear on the bible, ella's google docs and ffg's index are da bomb! The next great thing to sliced bread! Seriously!!  :) :D :D It's so easy to grab stuff from there and open in ibooks.

I adore the ibooks app so 99.99% of my stuff are there. I think i only have 15 books in my ipad kindle app. i have been too lazy to open my pc and use calibre to convert the mobi files to epub so i can transfer to my ibooks. Otherwise, my kindle app would be empty by now  ;D Maybe you can give ibooks a try again as epubs and pdfs in ella's and ffg's masterpieces are not compatible with the ipad kindle app.

After all the suggestions, may i recommend the following: completely power off/shut down your ipad. Then after 1 minute, turn it on and try again. I find this as my cure all for my ipad if an app freezes or something i used to be able to do is suddenly having problems. Hope it helps.  :)

It is really sad but also very, very uplifting in a way, which is what makes it so good; but then you read Where She Went and bloody hell,  I loved that story; I'm currently (today) in love with Adam Wilde. Yes I'd say she as good as Colleen Hoover

I really enjoyed all of 107 YOV. The early stories needed an editor/Beta but they were still very good stories, the latter ones were almost perfect.

No, they are mostly terrible (IMO) but there are a few very good authors who write in that genre who give you hope, Colleen Hoover is one, Maggie Stiefvater is another then there is Melina Marchetta (On the Jellicoe Road is the best YA novel I've ever read) and now I'm going to add Gayle Forman. Leah Raeder is one to keep your eye on, her novel Unteachable was pretty darn good for a first effort.....

JD Robb is a lifetimes work  :P  :D

Listening to BBC Radio 4, the Jack the Ripper story of earlier in the week has just been thrown into doubt, not enough peer to peer research to say with certainty that The Ripper has been found. Catherine Eddowes was prostitute Aaron Kosminski might be from a client.... ::)
