This same person has also convinced me to read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, The Kite Runner and The Handmaid's Tale sometime soon.
Limom - just read Robb for heaven's sake. You won't regret it. Speaking of which - Demaris - been reading the spoilers for the new book Festive In Death - everyone is mostly raving about it. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive from Doubleday.
Well, I'm really looking forward to reading If I Stay... and I told my friend that she'd better get with the program and read Where She Went! Oh and I agree about Melina Marchetta! Jellicoe Road was a really good read... she has another that I've been wanting to read too but I haven't gotten around to it yet.Now I need to go research where FAP & PJ fall in her fanfic timeline! I can't imagine the others being better than Puddle Jumping... it was REALLY good.
I'm gonna have to read some of these books you guys keep recommending. Unfortunately funds for books are slim right now. I'm moving into an apartment at the end of the month so all extra funds are going to furniture and the like.
If you're moving you're probably short on time, but the public library is a beautiful thing if you have one where you are.
Lol, I'm not that bad with links. Hell, I'll go out on a limb and say if she ever finishes MS I will send a dick pic of Jnr to anyone who wants one. I'm sure Booked will be at the front of the line. I totally agree with you about The Host - definitely not the best book written but it was better than Twilight. Damn you woman, now I wanna re-read both of these and I was trying to make a dent in my TBR. I'm not bad!! Oh, who am I kidding I was giggling like a bloody school girl at your comment as of course I thinking exactly what you thought I would!!!
Just read it and couldn't stop crying especially when Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents..I'm so glad that we're actually making progress now.
Has she not? I'm always confused when I hear someone hasn't read the sequel of a story....I have to read them back to back, if they're available. If she liked Stay then she'll flove Went.....Honestly it taking everything just to not re-read it now!
The Handmaid's Tale is fabulous! It will haunt you. The others are okay, but I'd read The Handmaid's Tale again. The others? Not so much.
Nope, haven't read TSTS yet. Wasn't that angsty? You know am a fluff, romance type of gal Yes, Beautiful Oblivion is about Trenton, 1 of the Maddox brothers. You actually don't need to read book 2, Walking Disaster, as that is the POV of Travis, plus a few extras, of BD.BO actually takes place a little before Travis and Abby meets and extends a few days after the "big catastrophe". I enjoyed that series.Am now reading Happenstance Part 2, still by Jamie McGuire. Gave the first one 5 stars. These are very short, less than 300 epub pages. This kind of angst i can handle. Talkng of second books that are POVs of the male character, Breakable by Tammara Webber was very good. A lot of stuff was added to explain what happened to Lucas. Definitely brought a lot more to their story. Absolutely rec it!
Ok, we have in writing that if MS is ever finished you will provide a pic of Jnr. Everyone make a note and lets hope that MS gets finished....
*keeping fingers crossed**uncrossing fingers so I can type* Well we can always hope it will happen. If only to see jnr. She said she promised her mother she would finish it. Um, how healthy is her mom? ? ? ?
Hey, if she promised her mom, she has to finish it. I'm pretty sure that there is some rule out there about breaking promises made to mom...right?
Speaking of libraries, I finally got my copy of A Discovery of Witches, since a few of you seemed to like it and I've completely forgotten how small some of the print can be with REAL BOOKS. I feel like I'm straining my eyes just squinting at the tiny ass text. I've grown so spoiled with my tablet and the apps I can use to make text bigger and dim the lighting. I've always wondered how the increase of technology is going to affect eye sight in the future. At the moment I've got 20/10 vision and have never worn glasses, but how quickly will vision be affected when everyone is basically staring at a giant light for hours at a time. That goes for computers as well.
Lol, I'm not that bad with links. Hell, I'll go out on a limb and say if she ever finishes MS I will send a dick pic of Jnr to anyone who wants one. I'm sure Booked will be at the front of the line.
Booked! You've cheated me out of a bribe! How am I supposed to make ends meet? You owe me. Maybe you can share that picture Loopy sent you with me.limomx2, honey, feel free to try and bribe me. I'm sure I have inside information about something.**mumble, mumble...try to spend the day actually earning some money to feed my family, and look what happens...mumble, mumble**

Gosh, I think TSTS was like the most romantic thing I've ever read... I mean off the charts! When I think back about it I don't think "angst" but then I've become slightly numbed to it so it might have been there and just didn't stick with me like the romantic part? My only caution is that, as others have said, the way it's written is different than most things we read... YG's writting is beautiful and poetic and you just really need to experience it to get what I'm saying!
