Thank you so much. But damn this one I cant download at work. Damn nevermind my over tired over stressed brain was not functioning. Got it. Thank you again Ella
Have you tried running the portable version of Calibre? They have a version that will run off a USB stick. I tried it once just to see how it works. Once it is set up, you can plug it into any computer and run. Well, any computer that will recognize the stick. My work one doesn't unfortunately. Totally locked down. Hence my use of another computer during the day. Helps that I mostly work at home.
Anytime...I'm testing it again. I keep forgetting it doesn't like the really long stories and tried downloading Fan Fiction, Sex Gods and Single Girls by bannerday.....still running. It used to work really well before Flagfic died....I miss Flagfic.....
Okay, that web version one is being really slow. Have you tried You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginI tested it on the same story. Still waiting on the FFDL appspot, but the ficsave downloaded right away. It will send to your kindle as well.
I am not receiving the items on my Kindle.
Now I'm going to continue read Age of Consent and see if this Edward gets any less creepy as Bella gets older. .
I use the FFDL on my computer, then email the FF to my kindle... Probably the LONG way to do things, but it works I have never used the web version... sorry, I'm no help.
I'm lazy and so I plug it in to the computer and just transfer the stories using Calibre. Highlight all the stories on my TBR list and click on the send to device. If I'm feeling really energetic, I run the Kindle category plugin. Though half have the category "fanfic"
I feel like such a I didn't think to plug my Kindle into my computer... WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY hadn't the thought even crossed my mind??!?!? Aye... Technology makes my eye twitch O.o
I dont think it works that way with Ipad. I have the kindle app on my Ipad since i detest the Ibooks app. I just send all in mobi form to my kindle email address
My Calibre has never been able to send to my Kindle app...I set it up that way but it just never worked so I send stuff to iBooks which syncs with Calibre via wifi using iTunes perfectly.
You have to send it to the Kindle apps email address via Amazon. I've done it with my Android and my iPhone. It can be slow though.
I have tried that but I keep getting an error. Does it have to be done thru wifi only??
Depends I guess. My old Kindle was 3G, so I could send them. But I think Amazon may charge for the service. If you have an iPad though, it should load however you get data. My iPhone could get it on the go as long as I had a data signal. (a strong enough signal that is) It's the same as downloading a book from Amazon. Truthfully, it's been so long since i've done it. I have an Android phone now and rarely read stuff through the Kindle app on it. I will either read directly from the website or put it on my e-ink Kindle that goes everywhere with me.
Thanks Hon, I am just going to keep mailing to my Kindle email address thru amazon and be done with it LOL.
LOL! I think that is what I was saying to do. I'm so confused now. Are you emailing from Calibre? Or just from web apps like ficsave? If you don't have access to a computer running Calibre, even if it is only from a thumb drive, they whole conversation probably was worthless for you. I think the side conversations got confusing
