Thread #6 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I've just had a look at my Calibre library, I've got 2000 (hey! They're free!) Twifics waiting to be read but thankfully only ( :D :D) 429 books. Kimkim if you come across a fic or book you haven't read what do you do? just ignore it or....

I know my ipad has 1,970+ in my ibooks. Have no idea how many are books or fanfic, might be able to know based on the no. Of files in the folders of my PC. Will likely do that this weekend to appease my mind. :P  My guess, i have more books on here than fanfics. When i factory reset my ipad early this year, i only copied those fanfics whose writers i knew or whose summaries seemed interesting.

No twific has caught my interest for a while now.  :( I wonder if nolebcgrl is religious in updating? Am so tempted to read the sequel of Sideline Collision!  >:D

I finished Abbi Glines One More Chance (part 2 of grant and harlowe's story) yesterday and Jamie McGuire's Beautfiul oblivion just now. Loved both, 4 stars, rec it.

Nearly 12:30am so off to bed i go.

Good night, ladies!  :-*

nolebcgrl hasn't mentioned what her posting schedule will be like but now she's finished "Fill Me With Your Poison", I'm hoping she does update regular enough.  ;D

You just reminded me hun that I forgot to rate those 2 books on GR (I'm absolutely crap at that)  :-[ :-[

Nite hun, dirty dreams.  :-*  :D :D

I just finished The Poisonwood Bible.   Not sure how many pages it was but it seemed like a REALLY long story.  Demaris, for some reason I think you'd appreciate this one.   I liked it a lot, but there wasn't quite enough sugar in it for me to be giddygaga over it. ;-)

Now I'm going to continue read Age of Consent and see if this Edward gets any less creepy as Bella gets older.  :o

Booked, did you ever read Trippin' Slippin' Tumblin' Stumblin?   Not sure if you're into that kind of fic, but man it was so good!   Is Beautiful Oblivion part of the Beautiful Disaster series?  If so, I still haven't read book 2 and I guess I really need to get on that.

I need help.  I'm finally venturing onto fictionpad.  Is it possible to use calibre ffdl on fictionpad?  If so, how do I find the story identification to give to fictionpad?  I've tried a variety of things and it hasn't worked.  Help!

Never mind.  I was too ambitious.  I was trying to download all of an author's stories at once.  Apparently, you have to do it story by story.

Ella, can you remind me how I put my password in, so I don't have to do it every time I download stories with an adult rating?

In the config section of ffdl under personal.ini I usually just copy and paste one of the others, then change the url. I use the same username and password on all.  Makes it easier.

If you have the capture url extension on chrome, you can grab all the authors stories that way and then click the add stories option. It will paste all the stories you grabbed.  FictionPad is not my favorite to download from. It tends to work best if you know the author. General searches are still a bit of a pain.  ;)

Really? I just read the summary it does not strike me at all... :o Missionaries in the Congo? And on Goodread there are Cliff notes! That smacks so 'study' rather than 'entertainment'  :D

Nope, haven't read TSTS yet. Wasn't that angsty? You know am a fluff, romance type of gal  :D

Yes, Beautiful Oblivion is about Trenton, 1 of the Maddox brothers. You actually don't need to read book 2, Walking Disaster, as that is the POV of Travis, plus a few extras, of BD.

BO actually takes place a little before Travis and Abby meets and extends a few days after the "big catastrophe". I enjoyed that series.

Am now reading Happenstance Part 2, still by Jamie McGuire. Gave the first one 5 stars. These are very short, less than 300 epub pages. This kind of angst i can handle.  :)

Talkng of second books that are POVs of the male character, Breakable by Tammara Webber was very good. A lot of stuff was added to explain what happened to Lucas. Definitely brought a lot more to their story. Absolutely rec it!  :)

You ladies and your fancy tricks...  ;) ;) ;)
This is how I have over 31K stories in my completed ff Calibre Library. Lots of duplicates though. I get the ffnet version, the TWCS version, the Twilighted version and the Fictiopad version whenever possible.  Probably the non-ffnet versions are the same. I just know some writers have different versions because of ffnet's TOS so they don't get pulled.  ;)

Are you using the web version?

And is your Kindle full?   (Spoken by one who had to clear off a bunch of stories because there was no more room :'( )

Okay, the other web version is You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

You need a google account to log in, but they don't keep it.  Only Google sees it as they run on a Google platform rather than a server.  I think you can email it at the end from your Google account. Or download it if you are on an iPad or Android device. I've only used it from my computer.  It also allows all the sites that FFDL allows, which is nice.
