If you've been part of the fandom for five or six years your interest might have peaked, especially if you think you've read everything by now, but there are still plenty of people out there reading. I'm only small fry, but I have readers in over seventy five countries. My issue seems to be getting people to leave a review lol.
Personally, I was late discovering Twilight and the whole world of fanfics, (Think BD part one was actually out in cinemas when I cottoned on and read the books.) Consequently I was late starting to write them. I suppose there will come a time when I prefer to write original works, but for the moment I'm still enjoying using the characters and bending them to my will lol. Heya Cougar, long time no see hon. How is the writing going by the way? still waiting on that teaser to finish
Hi sweetie, I know I've not commented much lately, what with regular postings on three sites and replying to reviews, my mother having her fifth round of chemo, not to mention the kids being off school and I don't seem to have the time to sit and join in. That said, I have lurked and read all the comments...By the way is tonight date night for Mrs Fassy and PA?? I've posted eleven chapters of Ride and Prejudice already and I'm just starting to write chapter 33. (I'm such a control freak I couldn't bear to wing it from week to week and have everyone waiting for updates, I have to have a big cushion of chapters banked lol) As with all my stuff it's not your typical fic, but most readers seem to be enjoying it and it's building a good following, so I'm happy.
I am sorry to hear about your mom, I will keep her in my prayers hon. I am in the same boat, I tend to lurk more and comment occasionally since that is all i have time for. Ok i need to know who is Mrs Fassy and PA?? I am confused. I can not wait to read it but I will have to wait I am not a WIP kinda girl.
Thanks honey She seems to be doing well, not sick and no hair loss, just tired, but they've just said it looks like it's working so that's a relief. Mrs Fassy is Demaris...I think she better explain about PA
I know I've read Wide Awake, one of the first fic i read out the starting gate but for the life of me I can't remember what was so wrong about the epi that it changed the HEA...KimKK, remind me please? Stick under a SP....
I love Sexy Silk. I also like Emotional Warfare by Completerandomness, but I wouldn't say it was the best writing. I though she pulled it to fix it, but when she re-posted it, it was still a mess as far as SPaG errors. Really cute story though. Collegeward/Geekward. Really sweet and kind of innocent. I just got an email from Ruthlessly Yours' blog on wordpress."Hey Guys!So a lot of you....and I mean a lot of you have been there to see me through the ups and downs. Having people like in my life is truly amazing. No seriously I get all my courage from people like you all. Many of you remember the issues I had last year on a self published book called Adela Arthur and the Creator's Clock. A few reviewers comment saying I ripped off HP and that I had sock puppets (fake accounts) giving me five star reviews. The fake accounts things was cleared up "I think" and all that was left up was the book. I made it free and just labeled it inspired by HP and left it alone.I hoped to move on and just let it go. I knew once Ruthless People was published I would get some one stars for it being p2p. I also knew I would get some harsh reviews. I promised myself I would never get boxed into the same position I was in last year. In fact I tried to take the negative and work it towards the positive of this book. The moment they found me and tried to kick up old rocks to throw, I would get off goodreads. That time has come and so I'm getting off now. I don't want to fight with anyone. I don't want to be labeled anything I'm not and I sure don't want people commenting for me.People have the right to say whatever they want about me...I chose not to read it or be hurt by it.Yes, I wrote Ruthless People as a fan fiction. No, I don't think that makes me unethical, lazy or a horrible author.Yes, I still write fan fiction. I'm a twihard and that is my right. Plus I love the community. No, I will not pull to publish anymore fanfics. I don't think I will publish again after the Ruthless People series is done.Yes, I am kind of sensitive. (So sue me.) Words are important to me, so when they hurt me, they hurt in a big way.Lastly if you want to get in touch with me please use twitter or Facebook. Messaging me on goodreads is just to much of a temptation lol.Again thank you so much for your love and support. It means the world to me...It really does.Ruthless YoursJJ McAvoy"I don't understand what the fuck is wrong with people. I really don't get it. There is how many NOT ALLOWED stories, books, series, what the fuck ever on the internet, in stores, etc. There is something out there for everyone, something out there written about any damn thing, why the fuck do people have to be so NOT ALLOWED hateful. If you don't like somebody's writing, that's all fine and NOT ALLOWED dandy but there is no god damned reason to ruin it for the rest of us. Now, because people couldn't keep their NOT ALLOWED mouths shut, everybody who does enjoy her writing, whether it is p2p or not, is being punished. I don't blame her. She has every right to say fuck it all and walk away, or take a few steps back or whatever. But there is no cause for bullying someone over a NOT ALLOWED story. You don't like it? Fine. Don't read it. But leave it there for those that do want to read it. Assholes.
I don't know why it's such a big deal for some people. I don't usually buy p2p books, and I do have a shelf for them on GR, but that's for my own personal use, I don't rate or review them, and I don't go after the author. I don't buy P2P because whenever I've tried to read any of it, I always had the Bella and Edward characters in my head, so I figure, might as well just read the fic and save my money. But I don't go out of my way to hurt the author, and if others buy and read it, well, that's their business.I DO plan to read the pubbed version of Clipped Wings eventually though, I did really enjoy that fic and want to see it all cleaned up.
