So am I! Two heavy angst fics in as many days...Exhausting.
She really did need to say "I love you like a brother" to him a lot sooner. Okay, I get the movie and book mixed up a bit. But I think it wasn't until "and then she hit me" after the "good for you Jake" that Charlie realized it was against her will.
I'm not on here too often but I've recently found that I have time to kill and want to read some fan fics-- does anyone have any good recs where Bella is hurt or abused and Edward is not the 'abuser'? Thanks
Ella! Stop reading the last page, you naughty woman! It's cheating! Where in the summary does it say it's a story about an addict? See what I mean about 'milk'?
Oops! Sorry, I usually put spoilers under the spoiler tab. Not that I consider that one really. You know he has an issue from the summary. Drinking/drugs/sex/whatever - it is always something.... And I probably won't read it. Or if I do? I won't remember the ending. Being forgetful has it's advantages!
our tastes are so alike Ella. some of the recs here prompt me to delete from my tbr bec of non-HEA, drugs, too much angst whatever demaris recs, i will cautiously put a note, admitted angst hoor that she is i figure she does the same for my recs which tend to be on the fluff, humor type
I'm soooo hurt Booked! Ask KimKim, she loves my reccs! You just want me for my KinkyFreak revelations.... BTW I've started watching Vikings, (episode 1, season one) and I'm not really 'feeling' it
Yes, but that could be any Edward ever written in Twific. Even Twilight's Edward had issues! You should read it Ella, I'll turn you into angsthoor yet! I'm soooo hurt Booked! I can read angst, I just tend to find it boring or annoying, depending on how well it's written. Most of the time, I don't like the characters enough to want to finish the story. And I like an ending. Angst rarely has a good one unless they are all dead at the end. So my head keeps going on and on with it until something else takes it's place. So really, this is why I prefer non angsty stories.

Agreed, angst for the sake of angst is bollocks and very rarely any good. But when it's placed in the hands of someone like Blank or Yellow or Rochelle, you are almost guaranteed a great emotional story written with skill and an attention to story tempo, i.e. just the right about of tension and release....Then? Yeah, I love those! Don't get me wrong though, I love a good laugh as much as the next person and stories like The Real Life of E A Masen are up there in my top fic list; in the end for me the most important thing is good writing, plot and character formation.
Don't hit me, but I get bored reading most angsty stories. The last Rochelle story I started is still sitting there about a third of the way through. I got bored waiting for something to happen. I need more movement in my stories. I like a mix of drama, angst and humor for it to be a great story. And some action is good too. Throw a couple lemons in and I'm great. Down with no up just doesn't work.
I am with you on the not being into Vikings Demaris. It just does not do it for me.
Me? Hit? Never! I love ya too much. If you wanna be a Fluffie (note I typed Fluffie not Fluffer, Loopy Girl), all power to you! We Angsthoors love all our fellow Twisisters; whatever your poision. Oh good! I thought it was just me....
Hmm, maybe I want to be a Fluffer. What is it again?
It's the person that keeps the male p0rn actors aroused between takes.. Which reminds me, remember my cousin who's a make-up artist? She worked with MFHD a couple of months ago but, unfortunately, it was for a photo shoot, so Booked he was not sans clothes!
