I was cheating and read some published fanfics (Trust in Advertising, Boycotts and Barflies, Poughkeepsie, Wallbanger, Live-In Position, Cocktails and Dreams...) I never read the fanfics there, so I liked most of them...

Wallbanger is the fic Edward wallbanger by feathersmmmm? I remember liking it but never thought it'll be published. I'm always surprised when the authors say that they are reworking a fic for publication so maybe it's just that I can't imagine the same story with different characters.

And we wouldn't complain (too much) if you were not so good in bed.  But really? It looks plenty big. 


So either she spends too much time with Booked's boyfriend, or she never got that close.

I tried to read a real book the other day.

Has anyone read The Cullen Legacy by pattyrose?

I am about half a chapter away from flouncing and would like to know if it gets better.

Oh, I wait anxiously for each chapter of The Cullen Legacy.  But I did that from the beginning, so I might not be the one to ask.

OK, so I think I did it again. Just finished McGuire's Beautiful Disaster, which I really enjoyed, and searched for its fanfic to no avail. Please don't tell me this is a 'real' book that wasn't a fanfic. I had Bella and Edward in my mind the whole time. Any ideas?

This is a hotly contended issue, but no one has been able to prove it was fanfic and the author claims it wasn't.

I have all her stuff on my TBR list, but haven't been able to read more than a chapter of any of them.  I usually figure it's because I'm not in the mood.  The summaries sound good, but, I don't know.  They don't really grab me.

I've read This is Who I Am, The Twelve Days of Christmas and The Cullen Legacy (WIP).  I've enjoyed them all and plan to read more of her stories.  Although I did send her a PM about her homonym problem (haven't heard back).

Am reading the new Dan Brown.  Not that I am a huge Dan Brown Fan, but I love the Robert Langdon stories.  Inferno is Robert Langdon #4.  I am only 6 chapters in, and because Robert Langdon is played by Tom Hanks in the films, I have not had the problem of substituting the characters with those of Twilight like I usually do.  Am going to see the new Start Trek film on Saturday, so looking forward to that. 

About the 'chock' word.  We have a saying  - "chock-a-block", sometimes shortened to chocker meaning full to the top/overflowing.  I think Rickell mentioned this, so maybe it is a Northern (England) thing.   

I don't think it was, either - though I maintain that the author has read fanfiction before as the writing certainly fits that style.

That makes a lot of sense. I'll buy that the author was a FF fan, but it wasn't originally a FF.

I'm itching to see how Shay Savage's original pubs will read. I really like her FF work, and I'm curious how she'll make Transcendence work outside of the fandom.
