Am reading the new Dan Brown.  Not that I am a huge Dan Brown Fan, but I love the Robert Langdon stories.  Inferno is Robert Langdon #4.  I am only 6 chapters in, and because Robert Langdon is played by Tom Hanks in the films, I have not had the problem of substituting the characters with those of Twilight like I usually do.  Am going to see the new Start Trek film on Saturday, so looking forward to that.

About the 'chock' word.  We have a saying  - "chock-a-block", sometimes shortened to chocker meaning full to the top/overflowing.  I think Rickell mentioned this, so maybe it is a Northern (England) thing.

It was actually Lauren, who is definitely not Northern!   :D

I do use that term but, not in the context it was described.

I have not read any of the Dan Brown series.  I watched a little bit of the film (which ruined Paul Bettany for me) and decided I could not read about that, as my imagination would go into overdrive!

I just saw an ad for the new Dan Brown book.  I was wondering if it was a Robert Langdon story.  I didn't know Star Trek was opening already.  I wonder if it's opening in the States, as well.

Thanks for the "chock-a-block" info.  I've heard that, although never really thought about how it was spelled.

I loved pretty much every Dan Brown I've read.  But it is probably useless if I can't even keep my head in a Catherine Coulter FBI story with Savage and Sherlock.  I normally zoom through those, and I've had this one almost a year and haven't been able to get past the first chapter.   :P

The books were so much better than the movies.

Hmm. Sounds like Twilight.  And all those Tom Clancy book/movies.  Although the ones with Harrison Ford were good, just because he was in them.

But even though I love Tom Hanks? He wasn't my idea of Robert Langdon.  Well, he could have been if he had cut his hair.  I don't remember Robert having long hair.   Or at least not that long. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Star Trek opened here last Thursday and was the only film available in all the cinema's for the first few days!  There are 2 versions, 2D and 3D.  I would have thought it would have opened first in the US.  Can't wait to see Zachary Quinto.  Spock has always been my favourite character (I even have Leonard Nimoy's autograph - sad I know).  I don't think they could have chosen anyone better than Zach to take over the part, he looks so much like the young version he plays.  I loved the first 2 seasons of Hero's so was happy he was chosen.

I always find it amazing how well Tom Hanks adapts to his parts though.

It is the same with the Jack Reacher books.  Fans were disgusted when Tom Cruise was cast as he is a polar opposite of the description of the character.  I don't know as I haven't read them but supposedly the author really wanted him for the part.

Tom Hanks played the part okay.  He came across as an absentminded professor type.  I don't remember Robert Langdon being that way.  But well, we read what we want to read into stories.

I haven't read any Jack Reacher that I can remember.  And it is the type I would probably enjoy.  Well, if I read real books anymore  :D :D :D

Well, it was for this book: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login which I thought I'd give a go because it seemed mindless and had decent reviews. I held off from flouncing multiple times, hoping there'd be a miracle turnaround (aka the whole story would change) but alas, it wasn't to be. After creating a 'Can I just flounce life' shelf just for that book, I left this review:

Wallbanger is the fic Edward wallbanger by feathersmmmm? I remember liking it but never thought it'll be published. I'm always surprised when the authors say that they are reworking a fic for publication so maybe it's just that I can't imagine the same story with different characters.

Well, it's pretty obvious who was who in the fanfic. I don't know the fanfic but it seemed like she only changed the names.... But I'm not sure how the book would be for someone who doesn't know the "original"characters.

Anybody read the Live-In Position? I thought that was really good but I'm too lazy to look up the original names for Edwards first wife and his little girl. There are way too much options for the mean uncaring exwife...

I liked Poughkeepsie (hope I spelled that right) a lot, but I was glad I never read it as a fanfic. Again, the original characters were obvious, but they were soo ooc... Reading Alice as Alice and Emmett as Emmett would have spoiled the Story for me, I think with the fanfic names I would have flounced that otherwise great Story.

Yeah! I loved that Story, just read it two weeks ago... I think I will have to look for the published Version, see what she did with it...

Thank You!   :-*

I have the fanfic on my very long TBR list.  I didn't realize he was a *p0rn star*  Hmm.  not sure how I feel about that.   There was another one like that wasnt' there?  But is wasn't funny maybe.  Although Smmiskimen has that one about the overworked, underpaid peen that I started once.  But I wasn't sure how I felt about reading from Edward's peen's POV LOL!

She says she slept with rob. And he is bad in bed.

THE DREAM IS OVER!!!!

I just spend five minutes reading her tweets.. about how she and Rob did 'it' OMG her tweets are just stupid! And for me the dream still lives!!!

I don't believe a bi*** that asks for money because she is broke and RP is filthy rich.

I'm trying to read Progress: The Original Sleep Humper Love Story by 107yearoldvirgin... I got to their first date but I'm stuck. I just don't think it's funny. It's just ridiculous.
Does it get better? I think I don't get the writer's style...
