I just finished Offsides a few days ago and enjoyed it.  Carlisle does manage to produce quite a bit of angst, but I really like the way Savage writes from Edward's POV.

Silverblossoms wrote Edward's Promise which is pretty silly, but in a fun way.  It's complete.

Has anyone else here read anything by Silverblossoms? Is she any good? What fics should I try first of hers, NO WIPs.

I have all of her fics on my TBR or follow lists.

Any fic with "pierced(with an Apradavya)" in the summary has to be interesting!  >:D

I used to find them here.  Just not any more...... ;D

We are talking papercuts, right?

No really, they used to have real ebooks on the general boards, but there were some copyright issues and now there are only fanfic stories.   :(

I found here looking for real books (that's a terrible sentence!!!).

There used to be a page here where you could request real books to be uploaded to Tuebl. That's where I get al of my real books - even though I haven't read any!

It's disappeared.

Offsides was very popular.  I just couldn't get past the nasty Carlisle.

But if you like angst, Savage is one of the best...

I really do read anything - angst, fluff, humour, smut (I bet that last one was a surprise  ;).

Yeah, we were all disappointed ...um, well if we read books? Yeah, we definitely would have been disappointed.  Though?  Now we can post things like EP & MOTU ;)

OMG! I actually thought the same thing and was thinking, "no you can't post that"  But I sure did look.  I would say yes he is..... ;D

I think I would have to agree with you there Ms Ella, and for which I say "score!" * fist pump*. Though I would still tell him to put some drawers on  :D

I kinda read Taking What He Wants. It was the biggest pile of crap I read in a while...OK that might be a bit harsh; character development was non existent, the writing was immature, Edward comes off as a schizophrenic, a docward who thinks he's mobward...The opening line is "Stolen pussy has got to be the best f u c k ing pussy in the world. Hands down" He is talking about Bella, BTW. It's all over the place.

Pay very close attention to the number of words....it is a 2500 page story on my nook.  :P

Wow! 2500 pages?!  ??? Would you say it was worth it Ella? I don't mind putting the time in but....

I'm with Astro that I find it really, really hard to flounce, I grit my teeth and keep at it though I'm swearing at my iPad and calling the author names. which brings me to...I have finally finished TWBB! The bloody shite (read author) has left it in a place that, if like me your a nosy bugger, you are tempted to go and stick you beck into the sequel!!! Fucksticks...I'm going to leave it for a while though hopefully I'll forget all about it!

I made it as far as around 8 chapters in. Bella is a tad annoying in her sweetness. Right now, I wouldn't rec it to someone who can't flounce.  I keep going back to it but if it doesn't improve soon ....I'm gone.

The whole thing about it is she felt deprived that there wasn't more minute to minute details in Eclipse or something like that, so this is her AH version of Edward & Bella's summer vacation after they met & started dating in college.  I think I'm on day 3. Yeah.  Almost 40 pages in.   :P

Good morning!  :)

Silverblossom's fics are something else.
Her Edwards are all possessive, manipulative, dominant, violent, mean a s s h o l e s. She writes stuff I can't stomach sometimes, her lemons are rough with all kinds of kink, her Bella's are naive or selfish little girls who are not allowed to have an own opinion and often enough a lot younger than Edward. If you want to test if you like her style, read her OS Claiming You. A bit better are Cullen's Best (polygamy) and Bella's Booty Call.
If you want to give her a try, read on TWCS, she writes there under silverblossoms1

I really liked Offside as well. you'd really want to beat the crap out of Carlisle here.

I just remembered that the most recent "new" fic i read that I really liked was Sideline Collision by nolebucgrl. After that, most "new" ones i read were one shots or less than 200 pages. So am looking forward to reading Ella's rec, blame it on the singer's gf, to get me out of my fanfic slump.

I delete those that i've read from my ipad so i sometimes forget the story of those i've read, though i do have a list of "done" fics. Apparently,  i've read Unexpected and Pinky Swear but will have to refresh my memory on what it's about. in hindsight, i should have put a rating beside each fic, like in goodreads, so I would know which ones i liked  ;D As it is, the only finished ones i still keep in my ipad are my favorites: Fridays at Noon (the only one i've ever reread so far), the Office, Virgins and Villains, First and Ten, and The Man who Can't be moved. am not an avid fan of angst but if I were inclined to reread one, my choice would either be Emancipation Proclamation or Offside. Well, i of course have the FSoG trilogy here as well which i have read 3 times... . So i guess those are my all time top 8.

Great minds, Booked!  I was just thinking this morning that I need a rating system!

I have a spreadsheet where I list author and title of all the fics as I finish them. I'm thinking I'll had a column for a rating and another for a summary.

OCD much?

I'm the World Champion of Procratination but if it's something I want to do, my OCD rules supreme.

Can't wait to get home tomorrow, d/l (flagfic) everything that's completed in the last 3 weeks, update anything that's updated (move them into my Jan 2013 bookmark folder), then set up my new columns.

So excited!!!

Hmmmm - perhaps this is why I'm single...

I finally found a fic that I liked!!! And with Thee Fade Away by Derdriu oFaolain (it is posted somewhere around here).

Summary: On her first day of school, Bella stands up to Edward: Forks' own psychotic jerk. Little does she know, Edward
is a centuries-old Englishman with a taste for human blood. Will they fall in love, or kill each other first?

I completelly fall in love with this Edward. I literally couldn't put it down, but I had to sleep a few hours :P I have about 50 pages left. I love the style of writing, simple yet not stupid. Anyone read anything from this author?

For me, a story is great if it keeps me interested in spite of the bad spelling.  The most recent, I think, was Fated Love by Twilover76  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

After a tragic death, Bella maintained a safe, yet lonely existence until an unexpected encounter on a stalled elevator ignited a fairy-tale romance. Bella and Edward throw caution to the wind and find what truly makes life worth living. Having said that? Yeah, I don't think you will like it because they may have sex and fall in love within the first 20 pages LOL!   But it was a mostly sweet story and I enjoyed it.

I don't really mind when it's just a sweet, romantic story about a normal couple. The worst is when the story supposed to be "heavy angst" and comes of as humorous :P

I read this in early December on Demaris' recommendation - when I should have been reading report cards.

You're right - it's a good fic and very addictive, but the ending/epilogue left me a bit flat.

Don't let that stop you - it is one of the better fics around.

I had two new story alerts in my inbox today. One Edward/Gianna and one Edward/Jessica. WTH?

And why is it that I love reading Bella/someone else than Edward stories but the thought of Edward with anyone else makes me nauseous????? Such a hypocrite I am...

After rereading Fridays at Noon, i jumped to some smutty rock star themed books to "cleanse my mind" from fanfics. Am off to start When in Doubt, Blame the Singer's GIrlfriend tonight.  :)

If you are looking for a good rock star book with smutty goodness, then you need to read Olivia Cunning's Sinner's series

LOL I'm the same way. Edward belongs with Bella, dangit, but I can read Bella/other people all day long.

I can kinda deal with Edward with someone else so long as Bella is happy in her new relationship, and it wasn't someone he was cheating with while he was supposed to be with Bella.  I do feel they stick him with Alice entirely too much though.
