Another added bonus of an iPad. You can instant message anyone, just like a txt but it is free. Want to see and talk to them- use FaceTime. It is like Skype, without having to load the software or the app.

Yes iBooks handles ePub and PDFs just fine. I had to download kindle app to read mobi.  Very very easy to download books, etc. iBooks remembers where you are to, so you never have to bookmark it. You can even open one book, close it, open another and read and then go back. It will always remember where you are with each book.

Savana I was like you. Apple, no way. But then the boys talked me into an iPhone and I love it. Then they got an iPad and I said I didn't need one because I have my laptop. Well 6 months later hubs and I were buying his and hers.

There are many more apps for apple products than android based, but the androids are growing all the time.

If I were to win one, then sure. But never purchase. Besides, nothing beats BBM... nope.

Thank you! Your post was very helpful :)

And I do not share my gadgets with my kiddos. They don't even ask anymore lol. They have their own toys, mine are too expensive to be played with (my kids are 6 and 4). My mom lets them play on her Kindle Fire all the time and they do well with it but....yea. I'm just selfish and don't share, not even with the hubs. Mine.

At my kids age, they know how to do the guilt trip. I always felt like such a selfish biyatch for saying "no, you can't borrow it" not to mention my husband joining them "how can you teach our kids the value of sharing if you won't share your ipad?". Duh, who in their right mind would willingly share, without any anxiety, such an expensive gadget? I am always close by, ready to snatch it back, when i briefly show something on my ipad. :-\

Now i definitely don't let any of them touch mine. So my new pet peeve is if they are too lazy to bring it with them when we go out. Hell no, complete with huge glare, for their even ASKING to borrow mine. Carry your own damn s h i t and stop bugging me, geez!  >:(

Hahaha  :D :D

I get the same lecture from my husband bc I am a bit....protective (?) of any special food that I get from the grocery. I make a list, ask what he wants in particular, buy him his shit and yet he ALWAYS paws all over anything I buy that I specifically wanted (I"m not talking about like Milk and butter here, lol. More like my York Peppermint ice cream bars). I don't care if I'm selfish or not, ask for your own shit and I'll get it for you. Besides, not every single thing in this world is shared. Yea, I'm going with that lesson lol.

As far as the electronics....my mom asked me if I could download any books or apps on my kindle (cannot, have no desire to do that on this one and I have no idea if I even could) because my kiddos were fighting over hers. I just looked at her all stupid-like. Uh...no. I cannot. They are SIX and FOUR, jfc. They have all kinds of video gaming systems, they don't need to play angry birds on your tablet or my phone.

I'm seriously psychotic about my personal stuff. It doesn't bother me enough to change it haha

Eta: my kids are not deprived of anything, if anything they are spoiled so I don't even feel bad when my mom gives me the 'look'  that I should be ashamed bc I don't share those things. Every single thing in my life is shared with my kids /husband that I'm sorry, it's okay for some stuff to be just for me kwim? While learning to share is obviously an important lesson, not always getting what you, regardless of the whining is also important Imo.

I guess i really can't say no to helping out family. i think my OCness is partly to blame with that as well. I spent over an hour during our usual Sunday lunch fixing my sister's nook, transferring my ebooks to hers, cleaning up her read ebooks, checking her email settings etc. After i was done i told her to buy the damn mini-ipad already.
She said she will once the new stocks arrive.. But had the gall to say "i know you will always do this for me bec i'm your favorite sister and you love me" oh jeez... She's my ONLY sister...13 yrs older than me, but yeah, am a sap for helping family out...

With helping her with her nook (I think it was a nook?)? I think it's awesome that you can and do help her out with it :)

I'm the techie nerd among all of my family and friends and will always help them out as long as I have the ability to do so. In fact, I actually enjoy messing around with gadget and electronics so it helps them out and fun for me :-)

You've really pushed the Ipad mini up on my list, it looks pretty sweet from the specs I looked up, thank you :)

..Wow. That's just embarrassing!

Also, I worry for any virgins who read fanfic lemons that revolve around Bella losing her V-card. The amount of instances I've seen where she's crying and it's super painful.. poor girls must be horrified after that.
Wait! It's not??  What I hate is when Bella loses her v-card to the humongous Edward's c*ck, and not only does it not hurt, she has an amazing orgasm.

Oh, yeah, it's fiction..... :D :D :D :D

Oh yes, it was part of that Angst challenge contest thing.  When I saw that she wrote a fic for it, I checked it out not knowing what to expect but it wasn't that.  I am really like her writing style and her "voice."  And I like how she doesn't try to write the usual OTT sex-ed up (<--not complaining though ;)) Edward.  I like her characters and her E's are the real deal.

I stumbled across her Purple Banana Hammock fic and was hooked immediately. Yet to read Departures because it finished after I went away but it'll be the first I flagfic when I get home.

(At the airport now...)

Especially with no Edward to kiss it better!

After seeing silverblossoms mentioned a few times in the past 2 days on here and another site I thought I'd try her stuff.  Uhm... huh?

I don't get the draw.  The first one to catch my eye was a tattooed and pierced Edward who owns a bike shop.  I thought  >:D but then I read the prologue.  hmmm... ok, I thought I'd read some more just really give this story a chance, but the writing was... I don't know how to explain it.  Unimaginative?  Anyway, I started skimming a few chapters, but had to flounce when I saw that Edward calls Bella "little girl."  Yeah, sorry, no thanks.

I go back to her profile to check out another story and see "Cullen's Lolita Crush" about a young billionaire and a young beauty.  I think "great!  should be no daddy kink type endearments here, because Edward's a young billionaire, right?  WRONG!  So Edward's young, but Bella's a f ucking teenager!!!  I'm talking 15 years old!!  :wtf: :sign0135:

I've not read any yet (but have saved) and I had a feeling from skimming that this might be the case - PWP.

Well, there's always the rest of those cherry poppin' fics where Bella has the best sex of her life. And usually it is her first orgasm in her entire life. And she is 25. God, I know fiction is supposed to be slightly unrealistic sometimes, but common! :P

I was going to raise this exact point, but every comment I wrote was either really tacky or far too crude. Well said.  :bravo_2:

Don't get me wrong, she was hardly encouraging me to go out and climb men like trees

Another Twific plot standard - Edward climbing into Bella's window!

Random one now ..how do you refresh the page on your phone without having to reload the whole bloody thing?  I'm only asking as I can occasionally check at work and it does my head in having to re-click the link and then the page number.

Here's what you do if you have to use your phone for extended periods:

1. Pick up phone.
2. Throw against wall.
3. Drink Vodka
4. Repeat constantly.

Question for everyone here...

What kind of tablet do you guys have? Do you love it or was it just an ok buy?

My hubby won a Best Buy gift card through a work contest and we're thinking of getting one but I like to have people's thoughts/opinions on stuff like this.

Thank you  :-*

I'm an iPad girl - but only because I started with an iPod many moons ago, then bought my iPhone and I'm a techtard and I like that I can sync them all. I need to upgrade to one with 3G because wifi in Australia sucks balls!

We also have 16 iPads at school that I have to manage (being the technology export  :D :D :D) and you can pretty much find an app to do anything.

I ALWAYS make sure that I don't mix up my iPad with the school's!!! ^-^

My phone (cherished like your tablets) and old kindle reside on my bedside table.

Best Buy- electronics stores. They carry all kinds of goody gadgets and appliances :)

Because I sync my phone and iPad, everything is backed up on my 'puter so I think I'd survive if something happened to either.

That said, I do most of my reading on my trusty Sony e-reader that I bought way before my phone. It's also managed by the 'puter (no wifi, etc) but I :sparklyheart: it.
