Twilight Fanfiction Non Canon, AU, e.g. not the usual pairings -  just so we are clear this means stories that do not have as lead pairings such Edward/Bella, Rosalie/Emmett or Alice/Jasper. Or as the dictionary says about non canon "A word used by those who write fanfiction. It refers to a pairing etc. that was not promoted in the original work the fanfiction was based on."   There are Jasper/Bella or Bella/Emmett or Edward/Jasper fics here but feel free to add your own non-cannon stories.

Agree with all you say here, especially Mortissues, one of the best, I love her stuff.  There are several authors I really like, another one is Merina Green, I loved the Running Series.

I love lifelesslyndsey and I have enjoyed most of what I've read of Speklez so far....Though I tried The Demon's Mate twice and flounced both times so I'll be leaving that one alone. That said, the first two that I read by her were MUCH better in the SP&G department than the  one I'm currently reading.

And my issue with BetterInTexas is that he doesn't seem too fond of commas, so every sentence is short and just...choppy. I don't know if that even makes sense.
You might be right about this.  Maybe it's the grammar that makes it hard for me to read, nevertheless, the stories are good.  As I said, I like the new one best so far (Atonement).

Are you guys strictly non Canon or do you still read E/B?

I still have a TON of (what look to be) really interesting E/B fics but ever since I delved into non Canon last year I haven't been able to read anything Canon...I don't know if it's just because of how Edward is typically portrayed in 98% of what I read that it has just, over time, killed any interest I have in that character paired with Bella or what

I love reading E/B when it's all human. I hate Vampward-after-New Moon fics...
Edward is allowed to be a vampire if he mans up and Bella lets him work a bit, or the setting is very different...

For supernatural fics I prefer non canon and I don't think Vampstories can be too farfetched, I mean, they sparkle already, what can be worse?  ;)

After I found non canon I couldn't read an Edward/Bella, then a few months back I started taking notice of the recc's when I joined PTS.  Now I will read an Edward fic if it is out of the ordinary.  Some of the Edward/Bella ones I have enjoyed recently have been AH, and I don't usually like AH, I read Twilight fanfiction for the vamps!  I still love my Jasper and Peter best, but I like non canon in most forms, but if the story is different and well written I will do canon.  I like Lauren's stuff, and 2am's Heirs and Heirlooms. Time travel I am into at the moment. But anything just really different I will try even if it is canon - example: writtenbyabdex - Through the Lenz.

I'll read anything.  I usually alternate between an E/B and then a non-canon.  I prefer non-canon, even slash, but unfortunately you run out of the good ones pretty fast...  I have to admit that I haven't ventured into pack stories yet.  I might start with the one that was rec'd in here a couple of pages back!

I totally agree with Anchalee though, even I'm gonna read Vampward, it's gotta be different.  I hated the relationship between E&B in S. Meyer's fics, so I don't want to read similar in fan fic.

I love reading E/B when it's all human. I hate Vampward-after-New Moon fics...

I agree about being limited on the good non canon fics....totally sucks. If you ever do go into wolf fics, I have a couple of really good Paul/Bella recs for ya :)

I started Blast From the Past today. It's a Jake story, post BD AU, and it's pretty good so far. However, it's not complete, so when it started getting interesting, I figured I'd better set it aside until it completes.

I need to find some good Jake/Bella stories where Edward doesn't really come back into play at all. Where she's left him or he's left her for whatever reason, she's moved on, and realizes she loves Jake (or Jasper or anyone else really). That's just the type of vampverse AU I like.
