I started reading it last year when it was still a WIP, but about 40 chapters were already posted. Everybody told me how great this is and I have to read it!
But I don't get it! The writing is a bit off though I can't exactly put my finger on it. Maybe I'm too accustomed to fics in first person.
What I also dislike are the long chapters.
And everyone kept talking about the fantastic first time of Edward with Bella. "Oh, just wait until they do it for the first time?" I don't get it. Yes, they finally did it in...chapter 19?....I can't remember, but it was hard to get there. It was nothing special. A lemon like so many others out there.
At the moment it stagnates on my Sony. It's complete, but I can't make the effort to pull through it. I'm really tempted to flounce it forever.
Is it worth my time? Will there be an interesting plot beside the designed drama that Bella can't be with an ex-inmate?

I didn't like the writing and couldn't grasp the hype.

And I have to agree to a post before - after reading all the pages of this great thread!!!
Some authors with a certain reputation can write what they want. There's always a hype and everybody praises everything.
I thouroughly enjoy a fic by CaraNo every now and then. But her writing is always the same. At the moment, I'm a little bored with her fics. But maybe I'm only overflowed. She produces so much fics and chapters constantly - at the moment it's too much for me. And I won't read the next fic of her as a WIP.
I didn't like "Bloody Kisses". I'll never read this again - though I didn't flounce.
And sometimes I can't stand her characters talking to the reader in a fic as if they tell you a story. Can anybody relate to that? I can't describe it properly (I'm not a native English speaker). Cara has a thing for that. I hate it.

Totally agree with you about this one. Althought the writing seems pretty great to me, I wasn't that excited about the plot and as the story progressed I got bored and flounced. I love a slow burn type of stories, but sometimes it doesn't stick with me. However I will probably go back and read the whole thing someday. There are many worst fics out there.

About CaraNo, I agree her writing is the same, but that's her style. At least you always know what you'll get with her (and I mean it in a good way), while other authors write one good story and then give up. She has written a lot of fics, both angst and fluff, so at least there is a lot to choose from Personally, I've skipped many of her stories without reading them, but that's because I didn't like the plot. The only one I started but flounced was Isla de Cullen.

I had planned to read Pound of flesh like month ago but after reading review section & few chapters from middle of story  i don't know i am not too keen to read it anymore.I am all for slow burn but something is not  catchy in this story. i guess i will read some other day in good mood.

About CaraNo, She doesn't have  extra ordinary plots, but she make up with her writing style. she is like hit and miss writer.I like her 40 % stories while i cant read her 60% stories.Like recently I didnt' like her recently finished fic Masen Rule.There was nothing special or unique about this story. It was pretty blah..But I am liking prequeal of this story Masen Rule Begining. lot.Its still unfinished .I had read many author's great story but i can't read their any other story, I feel like asking them after such great story you wrote this crap story. atleast Carano is better than them.Her stories first 2-3 chapters give overall idea of how story will turn out. And Carano's basic rule is her EB always get HEA together & no cheating so that's plus one.

Now see we are all different because I loved Masen Rule and her recent O Holy Christmas made me laugh hard.

The summary just did not catch my interest.  I am starting to think I will jsut not read it at all.

Found this one in a summary on someone's fav page and it looked like something I would like.  Little did I know...
