Ok folks, list em here. Fics that you have flounced, and why you flounced them. Help keep others apprised of the good, the bad, and the badly edited. :-*

No they don't have sex in front of other, I ought to know since I'm translating it ^^
I'll have to look at it again.  But maybe you haven't gotten to that part.  I was following it as a WIP and I would check chapters to see if it was almost done so I could read it.  That's when I saw stuff about BDSM parties.  And? Maybe others did the actual sex part.  I just saw the naked and talking about having to act out certain stuff.  So maybe I assumed the sex part.   :P

That makes sense to me--especially since I've read very few good twifics of that genre. Most of the twifics seem to actually deal with something outside of BDSM erotica. Like TheSpoiltOne's The Training School--not a BDSM fic in the way that Roquelaure's Sleeping Beauty series was not. I hate it when non-consensual situations claim to be BDSM. By definition, they're not. But back to your point, though I would love to find a good D/s with E&B, I can see how it might be nice to leave them in their little canon cocoon.
I've seen the Training School but never read it.  The Sleeping Beauty one I've never seen.  I usually don't read these things.  It was just that People like Us was Actorward.  I love Actorward, so I always check out the ones I see.  Unfortunately, they are not all well written.  It is a disappointment.   :D :D :D

No, I read that chapter just last week and although they are in a scene in front of others, they are not having sex because Edward don't want to have sex in front of people, it's one of his hard limits.

I doubt you'd like either story. The Training School is a fanfic, the other is a RL book (under Anne Rice's pseudonym). Both stories have women forced to do things in a BDSM setting against their will. Both are heartwrenching slavery stories commonly mistitled as BDSM stories. I could never understand how anyone reading either would find that hot. At least with the Training School, Edward tries to save her.

Should I give People Like Us a go? It's a lot of words if it isn't a great story!

It depends on your definition of a great story. justginger is a great story teller, but not a great writer, does that help? I have quite some editing to do in the French translation because sometimes she changes her characters names or age, but since there is a sequel to her story, she can not state that Garrett is forty in People like us and have him be only 49 when the sequel is supposed to take place 20 years later...

Ah, okay.  So just naked.  Or at least Bella is naked.

It's still a little weird to me.   ;D

Yeah, that is something I don't like.  Real BDSM is consensual.  So yeah, you are right, I wouldn't like that one at all.
Thanks....  :-*

I found this whole scene very weird and it made me uncomfortable, but I know that the French readers who are reading the translation will love it  ;D

Flounced "Emancipation Proclamation." Too drawn out and got tired of the drug use. Also, a but of LOL, but didn't the author lie about having swan flu while pregnant?

My curiosity got the best of me and I decided to read People Like Us and am glad I did. I think you nailed it when stating that while justginger isn't a great writer, she is a great story teller. I hope she updates the sequel quickly as I really want to know what happens to this B&E and their family! Thanks for encouraging me to read this one! (P.S. She is bad about those details! e.g. she has a HS teenager going off to earn an MBA, which is impossible in the US as it's a master's degree and one must earn a four-year bachelor's degree before that could happen. I am ignoring these things, but it must be difficult for you when translating as you become a sort of beta.)

I agree she tells a great story but is not a great writer but I have read a lot worse.  She is South African which might explain why she gets some things muddled, not the ages though.

Yeah the ages are all wonky and I still don't know if Kate and Garrett are the Nomads or the Damons, and I definitely don't know the correct spelling of Demetri's name!  :D

I Want My Life Back
Author: samekraemer  PM
Master Sergeant Edward Cullen achieved a very important goal…twenty years of active service to country. As one chapter ends, he's determined to achieve another important goal…to get back the people he left behind in its pursuit. AH/AH. EPOV. Canon couples, but not in the canon way. Rated M…language, adult situations, citrus.
Follow/FavoriteRated: Fiction M - English - Romance/Angst - Bella, Edward - Chapters: 28 - Words: 149,131 - Reviews: 2,138 - Favs: 585 - Follows: 923 - Updated: 11-03-13 - Published: 10-08-13 - id: 9750606

I normally like her fics. But this one is pissing me off. I keep waiting to see if it gets better. It doesnt.

Edward is an absentee husband and father. They get divorced. And when he gets bored with his new life and decides he wants his family back... Its all easy for him. He is immediately forgiven for everything.

Also a couple of fics cliches. Jacob the bad guy. Bella the saint. And lots of unilateral decisions made that gives this fic a soap opera feeling.

I can't stand when the author is trying to say definitely and instead type defiantly.

Too funny... my particular favourite is when authors mix-up "wanton" and "wonton." The former is defined my Merriam-Webster as "1 a archaic : hard to control : undisciplined , unruly b : playfully mean or cruel : mischievous" and the latter is a pork/prawn stuffed dumpling which is extremely popular here in Asia. ""You are wonton" he breathed" has implications I don't even want to think about!
