It's so weird how so many of us like an actorward...I've a weak spot for sure...but I have to have a bit more. I'm not saying DO NOT READ THIS, I just can't in all conscience recommend it either, especially if you can't flounce; a trilogy is way, way too much.
I did love the Edward in this. Bella is a little annoying to me and I did tell Redtini that I'm not so into the lemons. Really, I think she wants to write erotic fics. And as Ruth's friend will confirm,  erotic fiction doesn't need much of a plot.

She does write good lemons LOL!   So, if lots of lemons aren't your thing, don't bother reading it.  ;)

That is one of the better ones. Though my favorite is probably WWF/WWS by Nolebucgrl. I think Laurendeplume made a combo that can be found in the index. ;)

And Emmamama88's Virgin and Villains/Love Rescue Me is also great. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I think The Diva Diaries,(index) is probably my favourite Actorward but I enjoyed Glycerine (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and Realize (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) most of the ones I've read have only received 2*. The actorward theme is definitely the one everyone wants to write (regardless of ability) and where wish fulfilment takes over from realism/common sense and a lot of the stories suffer negatively as a result..

I just looked at my Calibre, I have read a lot of actorward.....Only 11 got more than a 2*!  :o

Thanks for the heads-up hun. :-* :-*
I was thinking of reading them as they're all complete now and I keep reading good things about this trilogy.
But like you hun, I can't flounce and when I try and leave a fic/book and start something else my Catholic gene comes out in full force and I start to feel guilty that I've tried to abandoned something, so I always go back and finish it even if I rather have someone shove a red hot poker up my arse, than read it.  :o :o :D :D
That's exactly how I feel at the moment reading: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, I love this type of storyline teacher/student love affair but the writing in this is just doing my head in.  :sign0135: :pulling :pulling

I used to think like that until I discovered I was missing out.  Some o/s are certainly worth the time.  Just read Lissa Bryan's, Some Say in Ice and see if that changes your mind or givemesomevamp's, Birth of a Legend.  These are just two outstanding o/s's that spring to mind.

Now that I've had months to sit and think about it, I think The Diva Diaries is PERFECT for publication, and will probably read them when they're released next year. Initially I didn't see why everyone seemed to love the story so much, but the writing was really good, I just felt like I was reading completely OOC Bella and Edward. It took me a couple attempts to get through it too, because the first couple chapters are so campy and then BAM she introduces the angst, and we're just reading about Bella and emo Edward coasting along, and then another dip on the dramarama coaster, and then we have safely reached the end of our ride. I'm excited to see how it works with different characters!

Glycerine was really good. I waited for it to be completed and then gobbled it up! I love that she switched the roles around and made Esme someone that wasn't Edward's mother, and Victoria as the BFF  :D

LOL! You like all the angsty ones and I like the more fluffy ones.  To me? Realize was only okay. Edward was stupid Bella was a wuss.

I felt my brain rotting when I tried to read Realize. I don't know how to properly describe the way it's narrated, but it reads like a list or diary with a little description thrown in. It's very awkward for me to read and I have a hard time losing myself in stories that I written that way  :o

Quote
"I threw the covers off my sleep drunken body and stood up slowly. I shuffled my way to the closet to grab some clothes and headed to the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. I took my time letting the warm water trickle down my back to help relax my stiff muscles."
..okay. I'm scrolling through Realize and the writing gets better but it's still super melodramatic and totally reads like wish fulfillment, where our author thinks that Edward is a giant sap who cries and can't live without Bella. HIS life is OVER!!

Same thing with Help Wanted. There's instant love between Bella and Edward within a week of having met, and Edward is already referring to Bella as "his love" in his head.  :P

There have been a few times I've found books that were rated so highly on Goodreads that I purchased them, only to return them immediately after seeing how they're narrated.

I really get this. I've been beta-ing for this author,  and though the plot is good, she does way too much of the step by step info.  I don't know how to help her though, other than rewriting parts to show the flow. And really?  I'm a crappy writer, so it's frustrating. :P

She really wants to improve though, so I do my best.   :-\

I totally understand, because I'd probably write the same way. LOL. I've seriously sat around and spent an hour trying to get a single paragraph written. WHICH IS WHY I DONT WRITE, but A+++ to everyone for even attempting it! But really it reminds me of when you're talking to children. You ask about their day and they give you a ton of info "Well I went to the park, and then Dad took me out for ice cream and then we rode bikes!! Had pizza for dinner, etc"

I guess it's tricky because there's a lot of shifting from First Person POV, but then they give you details in Third Person POV. I purchased books like that and wondered WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? IDK I just find it easier to read something that's full of description (but not too descriptive where they just go on about the most mundane details) with some dialogue thrown in for good measure vs lists of description and dialogue.

Writing is so weird and I love when authors are so good at it that I don't even have to think about what I'm reading because I just get immersed in their words.

Chapter 17 according to Google! There was even a search option for "When does Edward tell Bella he loves her in Twilight?" Which was halfway through the book I think. But who knows how quickly Bella was thinking about love in her inner monologue.

I think it's a prerequisite for all romance novels, really. At least stories where there isn't the popular angst arc where the hero denies his feelings and sleeps with half the population before coming to terms with his feelings. Or they're clueless and all "Hmm something is missing from my heart, I wonder what it could be??"

I've seen it referred to as "insta love" on Goodreads  :D People leave notes on whether or not the characters have insta love, so you know what kind of story you're getting in to.

I'm just surprised in Help Wanted because it's 60ish chapters long, and within a few chapters they're already thinking the same thing. ITS BEEN LESS THAN A WEEK SINCE YOU'VE met. Plus the other characters are coddling Edward and Bella like their in grade school. "Edward has trouble expressing his true feelings" aka my friend Edward likes you, do you like him too? I'll bring you around so that you can hang out!

I don't need a slow burn really, but I certainly roll my eyes at these less than a week I love you fests.

So true.  Speaking of flouncing, I've flounced so many things lately, and that includes Help Wanted.  The pacing of the events is too fast, but the writing is just I don't know how to say it, I guess the question is, "Can the Author be a bit more concise?"
