Well, I love Actorward. So I put up with a lot to get my fix.
It's so weird how so many of us like an actorward...I've a weak spot for sure...but I have to have a bit more. I'm not saying DO NOT READ THIS, I just can't in all conscience recommend it either, especially if you can't flounce; a trilogy is way, way too much.
I really enjoyed this story You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
So ladies, what has it been, like a year and a half? What's new? Anyone grown? I'm certainly older, not wiser, graduated from Uni and currently unemployed; oh the joys of being a grown-up.
That is one of the better ones. Though my favorite is probably WWF/WWS by Nolebucgrl. I think Laurendeplume made a combo that can be found in the index. And Emmamama88's Virgin and Villains/Love Rescue Me is also great. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Thanks for the heads-up hun. I was thinking of reading them as they're all complete now and I keep reading good things about this trilogy. But like you hun, I can't flounce and when I try and leave a fic/book and start something else my Catholic gene comes out in full force and I start to feel guilty that I've tried to abandoned something, so I always go back and finish it even if I rather have someone shove a red hot poker up my arse, than read it. That's exactly how I feel at the moment reading: You are not allowed to view links. I used to think like that until I discovered I was missing out. Some o/s are certainly worth the time. Just read Lissa Bryan's, Some Say in Ice and see if that changes your mind or givemesomevamp's, Birth of a Legend. These are just two outstanding o/s's that spring to mind. You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginYou are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I think The Diva Diaries,(index) is probably my favourite Actorward but I enjoyed Glycerine (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and Realize (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) most of the ones I've read have only received 2*. The actorward theme is definitely the one everyone wants to write (regardless of ability) and were wish fulfilment takes over from realism/common sense and a lot of the stories suffer negatively as a result..I just looked at my Calibre, I have read a lot of actorward.....Only 11 got more than a 2*!
I'd advise really strongly not to read HTDAMS if you can't flounce....It will give you a headache; there were sentences I had to re-read 3 times....and a bit more research wouldn't have gone amiss....Caro, I just realised I'd read Some Say In Ice before, heartbreaking. Absolutely loved it, of course.

LOL! You like all the angsty ones and I like the more fluffy ones. To me? Realize was only okay. Edward was stupid Bella was a wuss.
"I threw the covers off my sleep drunken body and stood up slowly. I shuffled my way to the closet to grab some clothes and headed to the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. I took my time letting the warm water trickle down my back to help relax my stiff muscles."
I felt my brain rotting when I tried to read Realize. I don't know how to properly describe the way it's narrated, but it reads like a list or diary with a little description thrown in. It's very awkward for me to read and I have a hard time losing myself in stories that I written that way ..okay. I'm scrolling through Realize and the writing gets better but it's still super melodramatic and totally reads like wish fulfillment, where our author thinks that Edward is a giant sap who cries and can't live without Bella. HIS life is OVER!!Same thing with Help Wanted. There's instant love between Bella and Edward within a week of having met, and Edward is already referring to Bella as "his love" in his head. There have been a few times I've found books that were rated so highly on Goodreads that I purchased them, only to return them immediately after seeing how they're narrated.
I really get this. I've been beta-ing for this author, and though the plot is good, she does way too much of the step by step info. I don't know how to help her though, other than rewriting parts to show the flow. And really? I'm a crappy writer, so it's frustrating. She really wants to improve though, so I do my best.
LOL! You like all the angsty ones and I like the more fluffy ones. To me? Realize was only okay. Edward was stupid Bella was a wuss. I never made it past the first chapter of the Diva Diaries and didn't even bother with Glycerine after I read about it. So funny though.

Glycerine was really good. I waited for it to be completed and then gobbled it up! I love that she switched the roles around and made Esme someone that wasn't Edward's mother, and Victoria as the BFF One I need to re-read: You are not allowed to view links. Why can't I ever learn!!!! I thought. "Let me have a look at what Loopy's reading". Just a quick 'click'...Now I'm stuck with you in Hell's Fire....F*ck. My. Life. From HTDAMS to this......F*ck. My. Life!
I can only say four things to you, STAY AWAY FROM HTDAMS. But also Super, instant love between B/E happens so often it's practically canon. Or, actually? There might not be any 'practically' about it....is it canon? I can't remember how quickly they fell in love in Twilight....Hmmmm? *goes off to research
I'm trying my hand at writing and I think you'd pop an aneurysm.
LOL! I don't get upset about writing or grammar. I just flounce. Unfortunately, when you are supposed to be beta-ing flouncing is not an option.
