I'm finally getting around to watching Breaking Dawn part 2; well, I say 'watching', I'm laughing/cursing most of the way through. God, I get what everyone meant...it is bad, I mean really, really bad; crap, actually. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login Someone should tell Summit's make-up department that hair extensions and false eyelashes does not a 'beauty' make You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

None of the nomad vampires are as I'd imagined in my head, Renesmee is the freakiest looking GCI baby I've ever seen (in fact, is it me or is everyone in this film slight over killed via special effects, there was a point where I'm sure they tried to GCI Kirsten into a living breathing actress  ) and Alice is the only one that is exactly as she should be.....I'm now just looking forward to the ending, apparently that's good, right?

NB: Well that's that then....I think I missed the 'good bit at the end'

I am reading May December Divide by Corinne Tate, it is not the greatest of reads but I've kept up with it for some reason. Mini rant over.

Lol, whenever I watch BD2 I swear I'm watching a comedy. 
And, don't get me started on Kellan's wig.

Am guessing the author may have been a fan of the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast while she was growing up. A cute teacup was named that there. maybe she has fond memories of cute kids being called that...

For those of my generation, i associate that name with the following
a) one of 2 chipmunks in a popular old cartoon
b) add an S and its a popular tv series with Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox
c) human of letter a), a group of hunky shirtless guys dancing for money 
and if you are nodding your head as you read a-c, you must be a baby boomer like me

The Twilight movies were definitely over the top cheesy!  And I can't understand how anybody would think all that makeup and fake hair would look good.    I'll admit that I was giddy when I finally got to see my Edward on the big screen.   I was so excited about these movies, cheese factor and all!      BD2 was my least favorite of them all though because I just don't like the baby story line.     Probably shouldn't admit this but when I cried like a big ol' baby.   I had heard lots of rumors that the movie didn't end the same way as the book and when that happened I was crushed.  I really did think they had decided to mix things up and end it in that dramatic way.   LOL looking back I realize how silly it is that I bought into all that, but when I realized it was I was extremely happy.    I think I might be the only person in all the world that didn't realize what was going on and I know I'm the only one that will admit it.

Thanks for mentioning this one! I have read something else by her, but I can't remember which one it is.  I just know I really liked it.   

She uses some elements of it in her published story The Weather Girl by Amy Vastine, which I'm reading at the moment.

So, do you think The Weather Girl will still be worth reading if you've read the other story? Or are they very similar?

Twilight on the wrote is a stereotypical teen romance with vampire/supernatural elements added, so I'm not too bothered by the cheesiness of it.

Got an update from Astro, sharing with you some portions:

"Dad is still in hospital and will be for at least another 6 weeks. The surgery went well and he was released from ICU on Wednesday, but, as the doctor told him yesterday, it's massive surgery at the best of times, but when the patient has abscesses on the heart valves, a pacemaker and septicaemia, it's a miracle that he's still here.

I'm doing well. It's been a trying week but we all made it through.

If so, what did you think?   I'm reading the fanfic version of it right now and I'm wondering if it was written before or after 50Shades/MotU.       The story just isn't really clicking for me and I'm about 70%.   I think I read somewhere that The Dominant gives you a little more insight into Edward's character..  just wondering if it's worth the read.

I preferred TaraSueMe's trilogy to E.L. James' as in my opinion it was better written than MoTU/FsoG but it's one of those fics/books that if you're not clicking with it, you're just not going to click with it. 

Okay peeps, I need your help, I'm in quarantine/under house arrest - meaning I've got the house completely to myself as I've got Ringworm - anyhoo, I'm in a re-read rut and was just wondering if anyone's read anything really good lately they rec.
