Finished!Designated Hitter is a 2.5* I think, the author clearly knew the world she was writing about but I found that there was more situational information than I needed to enjoy the story....On the plus side there were a number of breaks from canon characterisations, I always like that.

Now, Wisp? Maybe?
I think I'll put DH further down my TBR.

Read Wisp hun, I'm sure you'll like it and with the speed you read you'll finish it no time at all.  ;D
I've been thinking of re-reading it now that it's complete, but I've actually started my first fic in ages: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, I'm only 15 chapters in and it's alright so far.  ;D

Finished Beneath the Burn! Gooood!! It had me hooked from beginning to end!

Back to Virgins & Villains [emoji6]

Still feeling like [emoji90] [emoji90] [emoji90] ... Better but not really.. Slept most the day yesterday, was awake long enough to help my mom say goodbye to her puppy [emoji20] [emoji26]  that sucked royally...

In bed still trying to get up, but my body still hurts and my head is pounding... Argh!!! [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35]

Sorry to hear you are sick. I have a bad cold at the moment and it is worse than it should be because I live in a house full of mold. I always have a cold of some kind, but it is pretty bad at the moment.

I read DH last week and I liked the story, but found myself wishing she would get to the point a bit faster.

2.5 for bad writing or because it's too fluffy? ;)

Erm? It's not too fluffy,  it's for all round readability- in retrospect it might be closer to a 3, maybe? [emoji23]

Yeah, it really dragged at times...way too much unnecessary info imo.

LOL! I always have to check because I know too fluffy is a mark down for you. But since I like fluffy I would move it up the list. ;)

So, I read Eye on the Prize by esmegrace.  It's reposted until Jan. 4, 2015, although it's also uploaded onto PTS since it has been pulled for a while.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Good news!  B and E don't immediately fall into bed with one another, although they are instantly attracted to one another.  Bad news! I didn't really feel the UST between the characters.  The author writes intelligently and the I only noticed a few SPaGs.  There's a story, and there's information in the A/Ns about Navy language.  The plot felt rushed at the end.  There are 31 chapters and when I got to Chapter 26, I was thinking there was no way she could be finished by Chapter 31.  It was okay, but it's not going on my want to read again list.

Its hard to define; It's as FFG says above its a adequate story with an interesting plot but it's blah , if someone wants to read it I wouldn't discourage them but I wouldn't recommend it either...It's a 'Whatever'......

I'm reading Rebel Without a Cause and its bloody long!!! It's rather silly at times and though its meant to be set in 1954 the author sometimes slips up which makes for humorous reading.....

We had an awesome low key Christmas!   Can't believe it's over so quickly.     Now, before I know it Christmas will be here again! :)   Time really does seem to go by faster as I age!

I just finished reading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and I really liked it.  I had seen it recommended many times when searching for books that can live up to the "epic-ness" that is, The Bronze Horseman.     I had put off reading it because it is classified as Christian Romance or some genre like that.   I'm a Christian, but figured the genre might be dull to say the least.     Turns out a few of my friends IRL that read the same books I do had also read this and agreed that it was good so I decided to give it a try.      I don't think it was anywhere near The Bronze Horseman on the epic scale but it was a nice love story and I'm glad I read it.     There were some strange parts that were a little too "religious" for me, but for the most part the book wasn't like that.      It was only angsty in spots, but most of it was just simple and sweet.  I thought the ending was wonderful and though there was a bit of repetition in the middle with something that kept happening the end really wrapped things up nicely.

After reading this I was thinking back to why I floooooved the Bronze Horseman so much and I think it was the level of angst.   I don't think I'll ever find another book that can take me as low as TBH did and then drag me through the pit of despair only to pull me back up again in the most loving moments to tie it all into an amazing read!   Well, now that I type that out, I guess there is one that got kind of close...  LOL and his name starts with a "D".  ;-)

One more post...   I got side tracked and never finished the last book of the All Souls Trilogy.   I'm just over the half way point I think.   Need to buckle down and finish it this time around!

Had to attend a formal shindig tonight, long gown and make-up required  :( Since the only make up i own is chapstick and some tubes of lipstick given to me over the years (still unused), had to go to a salon to have my make-up and hair done. Good thing this rarely happens or i will just conveniently get sick and not attend (which i have done for weddings of a few cousins  :P)

But can i just say getting the make-up off is such a bitch!  >:( Washed my face, put on my newly bought make up remover and used what seems like all the cotton balls produced in Louisiana, washed my face again and still i can feel some on my face and eyes.  >:( How women can do this on a daily basis amazes me. I dread the day, soon, i will need to do this daily as my advanced age is showing and my face is slowly being leeched of color. Who the f*ck invented make-up? Why can't we just go au naturelle even when we're old and gray? *end of rant*
